Cosplay Feature: Laney Feni's Supergirl!

Photo by Maze Studio The last time I shared cosplayer Laney Feni, it was via her amazing Fem Aquaman cosplay she did a few years ago. Originally for today's piece I wanted to gush over how stellar she looks in her Post-Apocalyptic version of Supergirl but that led me to sharing with you another version that's more of the character's classic look. If you were to dive into her cosplay portfolio, Laney has definitely cosplayed Kara Zor-El numerous times but this version draws heavy inspiration in both the design and feel of the old Zack Snyder take on Superman. Between this classic design and the other variant I mentioned earlier, the only difference really boils down to pants and the cape's use. We'll get to that later of course! For starters, Kara's look here consists of a long sleeved tank top like piece and pants with the midriff being shown. I'm pretty sure that this is Laney's natural hair too which really is perfect for Supergirl!

Cosplay Showcase: Rockruff Dress Group! (Team Borf Borf)

The talented trio of Natalie Fuinha Cosplay, League of Larcy and Mink the Satyr wanted to do some kind group together this year. Eventually (I can't remember which lady sparked the idea) they all came to a Pokemon consensus and rocked out the full Rockruff evolution line from Sun/Moon! Done in dress form, each lady picked their preferred doggo in this lineup. Here (from left to right on the top pic) you have Natalie as Lycanroc in Midday form, Mink as Rockruff, and Larcy in the Midnight form. These dresses were probably made with similar material and each have a distinct pattern to them. Plus there are also elements which could be seen as a common thread for all of them. These outfits were debuted at Conneticon this year and soon the three of them came up with group name of Team Borf Borf. I don't entirely know why but I mean hey, cute doggos right?

Starting with Natalie, her Midday Lycanroc includes a hoodie with ears at the top. a light grey makes up the main color base with dark brown and white segmented in a pattern. On the chest is a giant white piece that supposedly represents the Pokemon's hair patch. Natalie's arms include black fingers for the paws and there's also tiny brown triangles up near the collar. It's not fully seen but I believe there's also a tail in the back. She's is also rocking a gorgeous white wig under the hood.

Mink's Rockruff is more of a light brown shade throughout with a brown trim on the hood and bottom. This you'll see is constant through all the girls. The bottom trim for each one is dark brown. Along Mink's waist has a dark grey pattern with brown dots which resemble the rocks around Rockruff's neck. Her hood also has ears with a much more pink inside. The sleeves are without coverings much like the other girls. She also has lines drawn over her nose!

Lastly you have Larcy being mainly dark red with a white chest section representing the fur patch! The black trim is mainly in a triangle form and her sleeves have big coverings representing paws much like Natalie's. Black is a focus and takes the place of the brown like the other girls have. Brown triangles are protruding from Larcy's chest and spikes can be seen coming out of the back of her dress. I feel her hood is slightly more larger in size which is fitting for Lycanroc's Dusk form. The paws are also exaggerated in size which fits the Pokemon's look (as a Midnight Lycanroc owner I can attest to this!). A white wig makes up the last piece for Larcy's dress. Each girl can be seen rocking a keychain of their respective doggo for easy identification!
