Cosplay Feature: Lisa Mancini's Magik!

The Marvel Rivals cosplays keep on coming with various iterations of Magik done by cosplayer Lisa Mancini. Specifically, I have three versions that she's done over the last year or two since the cosplay was made & debuted. I myself am not too well-versed to the character so I'm mostly gonna be focusing on the outfit structure and how it's formed around Lisa. For starters, Magik's base costume starts off with a long platinum blonde wig with some wings added on top. Most likely this is done via a headband piece added in. Her main chest piece looks to be a tank top base in black with an armor chest piece layered on top. It does go all the way up to Lisa's neck so I have to wonder if she had any trouble moving her head around while wearing this. Magik has a mixture of long and short sleeved coverings for her arms. There's also different pauldrons on the shoulders. One of which is smoothed out with what I believe is the X-Men symbol on one and the other is covere...

Cosplay Feature: Kam C Cosplay's Cloud Strife!

Today, I have someone that I was planning to share a bit later but I thought why not shake things up a bit. Kam C Cosplay is someone who I found via a duo cosplay/shoot they did with Jess Blaze Cosplay (which I'll share later this month!) awhile back. I'm not entirely sure if both this and the duo cosplay were worn at the same weekend, but in any case it's a whole lot of Final Fantasy that you'll have to put up with for a bit :). Based on the background of one of the photos I have, Kam wore their Cloud Strife cosplay to Holiday Matsuri (HolMat as more widely known) during this past year--least I'm guessing based on the timestamps of the photos themselves. In comparison to Cloud's updated Remake trilogy design, I think this is more in-line with his classic PS1 era look. The base elements of the cosplay look relatively simple & comfy. Though I don't know how they fared in Florida's notorious humidity in December. You have a turtleneck like top with baggy jeans rounding out the leg wear.
Brown suspenders can be seen fairly loose in some shots but I imagine that's because they're connected to the one massive belt that Kam has equipped around their torso. Two smaller brown belts are directly underneath with one being attached to the pants. Both of the gloves are distinctly different with one of them having that gauntlet/bracer look with the extra knobs at the end. The other glove is more normal looking. What's standout for me in this cosplay are of course the single shoulder piece, sword and wig.

Starting with the shoulder, I'm willing to bet it's attached via velcro and or straps to the suspenders. Also venturing a guess that foam or worbla played a part in its construction. The coloring and extra details added in really shine in addition to the protruding bolts that you can see coming out of the armor. For the iconic Buster Sword, I can't tell what it was potentially made out of, but Kam wields it with such ease! I've shared many Cloud cosplays over the years so I don't think I have to go into detail about its design. The one lighter section of the blade is a very light shade of gray in comparison to the other side with the added etchings. Plus you have the small rectangle part with circular slots added in for the Materia.

Cloud's iconic hairstyle in this instance is interesting to me when I think about others I've seen at conventions. Yes you have the spikes on spikes on spikes but I think where as some wigs are a lot more pointed and hard, this wig looks incredibly soft to the touch. The back of the wig is practically exploding in spikes and I really love how it looks overall. Kam doesn't shy away from Cloud's stoic expressions plus fighting stances. I have to wonder how much work went into styling that wig. How much spray was used?!? Some of the photos do a great job in capturing Kam as a whole and I feel that the wig takes center stage in some of the shots. Especially when given a side profile focus!

This is such a fantastic portrayal of Cloud and I hope Kam feels a lot of pride/joy when it comes to wearing him! You can check out more of Kam C Cosplay's work down below through their Instagram. Trust me you'll be seeing them again on the blog real soon :).
