Cosplay Feature: Gray Oranges' Rikku!

Photo by David Ngo I won't ever shy away from writing about cosplays of Rikku's look from Final Fantasy X-2 and Gray Orange did a fantastic job portraying her in both the overall cosplay look PLUS the pose work. Of course I'll get to all that in due time but let's start at the top! It's certainly a cosplay worn for several events and I want to say I first saw this in the overall collection of MAGFest photos back in January of this year. I really love how the multiple braid strands are integrated into the blonde wig for starters. I can't tell if they're either part of the wig itself or the blue headband that's wrapped around. In any case, following this is a red scarf wrapped around Irini's neck before you then get to the yellow bikini top. Here, you can also see orange trim lines as part of the piece. Oh, I forgot to mention that the red scarf actually travels all the way down to her legs. These end points then transition to a yellow/orange gradient!

Cosplay Feature: Yaya Han's Batgirl!

The minute I found out that Yaya Han was creating Batgirl, I was overly excited to see the final result. Is my favoritism for DC showing? Sorry but this cosplay looks incredible! The armor definitely has that comic book look, hell even from a movie and the red/orange hair looks beautiful on her! The cowl was commissioned by sculptor Reevzfx (who makes awesome stuff by the way!) with everything else being handled by Yaya. Now most of the stuff I'm gonna mention about how this was constructed can be found on her Facebook page so it'll at least be shortened down so it's not completely long :). For starters, the armor was created with plastic and urethane rubber then painted with tons of black!

The under-suit was fashioned with pleather all patterned and the boot covers, gloves and cape were made with a matching material but all in a pretty gold color scheme!  The cape is black on the inside and according to Yaya, swooshes alot! The gauntlets were done with Worbla and foam and the gloves were created from scratch! Pretty much pleather was used on everything except the armor. The setting and poses Yaya makes in the pictures below are amazing and definitely fitting for Batgirl. This is definitely one cosplay I would love to see in person at a convention one day. Just look at those battle stances :D. Enjoy the pictures guys!
