Shutting One Door, Keeping others Open

UPDATED ON 8/20/21: Facebook, Patreon and Blog IG pages have been shutdown/discontinued As the COVID pandemic rages on and cons are even shutting down into 2021, it got me thinking on a drive home one night about how I'd feel with even coming back to blogging. When cons eventually do come back at some point. Truth be told, many of the posts and content I shared here could be transferred over to more discussions via my podcast CosplayBytes. I've been blogging my love for games, cons and cosplay for 7 years now and maybe it's time to say goodbye for now? My podcast has gotten me some incredible opportunities as a member of Press for conventions, and the rapid love I've had for streaming is also taking up a lot of time now. On top of multiple personal things on my end, I don't think I have the energy to keep this up even post COVID you know? The very first cosplay centered post I wrote was on Jessica Nigri's Deadpool, and since then it's spawned over 800 posts

Cosplay Feature: Mina Starks' Princess Peach!

I truly love when popular cosplayers with a sizable following shoutout other cosplayers for their incredible work. It always leads me down a rabbit hole in finding talented individuals to share with you guys! Mina Starks is one such girl and I was immediately hit in the face with this gorgeous Princess Peach you see up above. Debuted at MegaCon earlier this year, this version of Peach is much more so on the cute and frilly side. Literally her arms consists of nothing but those giant circular frills (which are actually done by individual flowers, like over 700 of them :O). I believe this was also designed by Mina so it's definitely a testament to her costuming skills! Along with the flowers, you have a dress which starts off with straps connected to a neck piece. The neck piece features a blue brooch which is seen in the Princess' original design. Towards the center of the dress top is a sleek little design that's more regal in a sense.

As you travel down the dress, that's when it branches into several sections down below. Mainly with the center being done in white and having a brown tree added in. At the tips of the branches can little flowers be seen which look to be done similarly to Mina's arm frills. On either side of the center is full on pink with a gold pattern sewed on. This looks to have been done in the same material like the centerpiece up at the top of the dress. Quickly going back up to the top, her earrings are the same blue shade as her brooch.

Mina's facial expressions are just the cutest and her wig and crown are ON POINT <3. Plus there's an added pink flower on the blonde wig. Stated on her page, Mina has a huge love for the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom so wearing this gave her so much joy. All the photos are gorgeous and she ROCKS this cosplay for sure :D. None of the shots I have give off a good look to her leg area so apologies about that. Hopefully you all enjoy this the other pictures!
