Cosplay Feature: Seviria Cosplay's Suicune!

Photo by Saffels Photography So when I first saw shots of Seviria Cosplay's take on Suicune, it was pretty much an automatic YES for me to write up about it at some point. Despite the searching I went through on Instagram, I wasn't able to get a ton of shots to share with you guys. That being said, the two I did fine give off a wonderful look at the cosplay as a whole. For some backstory, Seviria took on a design done by artist Villiamboom who drew up the legendary dog Pokemon as a humanoid. In her words, Sev raced to finish this in time for Anime Expo this past summer. Suffice to say, the end result is truly amazing. Suicune happens to be my favorite out of the trio of dogs so it's not a huge surprise that I resonated so much with this cosplay. Starting off at the top, you have the iconic headpiece that's a defining characteristic for Suicune being front and center. My best guess is that insulation foam or some other type of it was used in its construction. Fully color...

Cosplay Showcase: Livicole Cosplay's General Beatrix!

So I've got an amazing cosplayer for you all today. Thanks to Jaycee Cosplay for shouting out some fantastic individuals on her Instagram, I came across Livicole Cosplay and her Lunala gijinka she debuted last year. While that was what I originally wanted to talk about, her General Beatrix from Final Fantasy IX blew me away. Based off art of the character found online, here Beatrix is reimagined as if she was a playable fighter in the Dissidia Final Fantasy fighting games. I have to say, this design is simply incredible given the only other good look we had was a miniature styled look in the original game. Livicole's Beatrix has a wonderful mix of pretty much everything. From the white jacket, to armor pieces on her arms, I'm beyond happy to talk about this with you all.

Why not start with the white jacket? Here, a very fancy pattern can be seen within this piece and Livicole felt it was a solid match to what she was looking for. Up near her shoulders is a red piece of fabric draped around her neck and looking like it extends down her backside as a cape of sorts. It's attached to this jacket with a white frilly strip on each side. Gold buttons decorate this jacket in addition to a zipper traveling down the middle. Another piece of white fabric can be seen underneath this jacket acting like a torso cover of sorts.

Wrapped around Livicole's waist, is a giant belt in black with huge bronze designs and buckles. It's also slanted to one side which looks to be stable and holds up good when moving around. The pants are of a burgundy red shade which works superb with the other colors involved. She also has a side cape in white which you can see in some of the shots. White on the outside and that same shade of red on the inside. It looks like it's either attached at the waist or part of that upper area I mentioned earlier.

The armor pieces can be seen along Livicole's arms and legs. Done in possibly foam or Worbla, they each have that shiny silver color as a base. The arm and hand pieces have additional bronze designs which are added in beautifully. Seriously guys this looks clean as all hell! For the hands, it looks like a black glove is seen underneath and acting as a base for the armor to rest upon. The armor on the legs actually applies to only her feet, as what's wrapped around her ankle looks to be a white looped together in the middle. Openings can be seen revealing even more of the red pants. Livicole went all out with a sword as her weapon prop plus a sheath that can be seen attached to her waist. The sword looks to have that saber/rapier style with the hilt being very ornate and bronze in color. The blade is silver with red markings traveling up this portion. The handle is brown with the pommel done in bronze.

A gorgeous brown wig makes up the hair with these adorable curls on the ends. Plus, Beatrix's signature eye cover immediately follows the wig. Given Livicole's limited eye-sight, hopefully it wasn't too much of a bother for her. All of these photos are simply incredible and I could tell immediately that Livicole had an amazing time both wearing her and creating Beatrix. Seriously this is some top notch cosplay and I have even more shots to share with you guys down below! GAZE AT LIVICOLE'S AWESOMENESS <3.
