Neen The Kitchen Magician's Paintress!

The Paintress' overall design in Expedition 33 is both fascinating and yet haunting. As the sole force behind vanishing off people every year, she's become one of few antagonists in the game. Course, through the game's lifespan in cosplay, people mostly tackle the main members of the core Expedition. Whether it's in the traditional uniforms, other alternate costumes or the iconic Baguette outfits. So it's been a real treat to see Neen The Kitchen Magician do a phenomenal job in bringing The Paintress to life. The full outfit is black from head to toe. You have a gown like piece at the bottom with it flowing mostly in the back. It does look like both the bottom and top pieces are segmented into like a long sleeve shirt and long pants. But being full pitch black does give some shots a sense that it's all connected. That even includes the face area which one pic does show that yep, Neen is able to see out of it.

Cosplay Feature: LaydiexSkull's King Dedede


One cosplayer that's been a delight to follow on Twitter is LaydiexSkull. Out of nowhere (least to my knowledge) she dropped finished photos of King Dedede in celebration of Smash Bros being recently launched earlier last month. While the amount of pics posted is small, they each give a marvelous look at the cosplay as a whole. Given that Dedede is one of my heavy mains in the game, I totally wanted to jump in and do a write up on this for you guys <3. As a whole, Laydie is rocking a one piece like dress that's almost like a white/tan combination. However, the colors soon pop in with the belt and trim along her chest. These of course being blue, red and yellow, with gold being the trim line.

The iconic coat is seen in full force with the gorgeous shade of red and wool like trim for the opening and cuffs. Laydie is also rocking yellow gloves and a solid blue wig. She's really being spot on as the greedy king you guys :D. The cap is just adorable with its golden trim and emblem on the center. Plus the pom pom at the top is seen in some of the shots. Laydie of course wasn't satisfied and she totally wanted to bring the hammer down. Both realistically and mentally as in she has the GIANT HAMMER WITH HER AS A PROP!

Given the way she holds the mallet, I'm willing to bet that foam had some part in its construction. Laydie did mention that some of the process was recorded and posted on her Instagram so I'll put a link to that in addition to her Twitter at the end :). The mallet's body and handle is done in brown with the former having that wooden texture added in. The ends of the mallet have that silver metal like trim with a bright red and yellow star design after that. She's got the cutest smile in the pics and I'm massively in love with the cosplay as a whole. GO LOOK GUYS!
