Cosplay Feature: Nami Tsunami's Sora!

It's crazy to me that in a few days, Kingdom Hearts 3 will finally be released after over a decade since KH2 debuted. Since then, several games have released and while you'd think their stories wouldn't matter, turns out they actually do. To celebrate, I've got Nami Tsunami in her amazingly designed take on protagonist Sora. As a whole, the cosplay is a skimpy battle armored take on the character with so many nods to his original design, not to mention Disney themed references but we'll get to that later. Nami's Sora consists of a breastplate with shoulder pads done in black. A belt shape can be seen on its trim and this is one of many hilarious callbacks to Tetsuya Nomura's crazy design style. Aside from the breastplate, you've got gloves and very open pants. The breastplate has a freaking zipper added in going up the center of the chest.

The overall color style seems to refer to Sora's outfit from KH2. Lots of primary colors shine with silver and black thrown in. Her pants are a little on the short side with openings up near the top. This looks to be one of few areas where fabric was involved. Two bright red pouches can be seen hanging on her legs and attached by small yellow belts. There's a blue belt which has Funko Pops of Mickey, Goofy, Donald and a few other Disney characters that specifically help Sora in his journey.

The shoes look to be styled like heels but have zipper openings and a blue/yellow color scheme going on. There's seriously a lot of straps interweaving with each other in the armor design. The shoulder pieces have a smooth portion with raised ridges as well. I also want to of course mention the crazy props Nami has going on. First off, there's a pretty large gold crown resting on top of an on point brown wig. The crown is an element seen in promotional art for the series, even seeing in game usage in KH2's Final Mix version.

Weapon wise, it's not the traditional Kingdom Key but rather the fabled X-Blade that Xehanort is so desperate to re-create. This Keyblade looks massive yet it looks as if Nami is holding it with ease. My guess is the material used to create it was of a light type. 2 Kingdom Keys cross together with a gear like piece placed near the center and then ending with a blade portion sticking out. All the photos do a fabulous job showing off the cosplay as a whole and Nami looks as if she's had so much fun wearing it last year. Seriously check these out :D.
