Shutting One Door, Keeping others Open

UPDATED ON 8/20/21: Facebook, Patreon and Blog IG pages have been shutdown/discontinued As the COVID pandemic rages on and cons are even shutting down into 2021, it got me thinking on a drive home one night about how I'd feel with even coming back to blogging. When cons eventually do come back at some point. Truth be told, many of the posts and content I shared here could be transferred over to more discussions via my podcast CosplayBytes. I've been blogging my love for games, cons and cosplay for 7 years now and maybe it's time to say goodbye for now? My podcast has gotten me some incredible opportunities as a member of Press for conventions, and the rapid love I've had for streaming is also taking up a lot of time now. On top of multiple personal things on my end, I don't think I have the energy to keep this up even post COVID you know? The very first cosplay centered post I wrote was on Jessica Nigri's Deadpool, and since then it's spawned over 800 posts

Cosplay Feature: Katastrophe Cosplay's Megara!

Katastrophe Cosplay is one of several gorgeous ladies recommended to me by friends when I asked for new people to share. It's either that, or during one of my Photography spotlights, she was a model in one of the photos. Either case, her Megara from the Disney classic Hercules, stood out to me. Mainly for her figure and how gorgeous the dress was. Not to mention how she kills it in the facial expression department. If you remember the film, Meg was just full of so much sass and possibly was a fictional crush for many young impressionable boys growing up. Katastrophe is fully decked out in a long purple dress with sashes in different areas. These sashes are purple in color but in a darker shade.

Up near the top are straps which look to be held together by small circles with a cartoonish swirl etched in. Katastrophe's wig is very voluminous and styled pretty perfectly. The yellow band is even included to get Megara's signature ponytail. The dress as a whole is incredibly long. Extending from her shoulders all the way down to practically her feet. This also leaves the arms sleeveless and I have no doubt that this is one of Katastrophe's more comfier cospla

The sunlight in the photos takes prominence and make her look like she has this irresistible glow/aura around here. Don't believe me? Check out the other photos yourself! Also, Katastrophe gave me some fun facts regarding this cosplay. Not only was this one of the first outfits she created, BUT she came full circle at a past con recently with creating a Hercules cosplay :D. At the time of making Megara, she had very little sewing experience and all of this was handmade!
