Holy shit you guys. No seriously, that was my exact reaction when I first learned of this epic group for Katsucon this year. That expression evolved to a louder scream with my mouth pretty wide open in astonishment. Cosplayer Becka Noel who you might know as the brains behind the creation of such groups like the My Little Pony Warriors kicked off this idea. She handled the sketches and then sent them over to Gladzy Kei (who came up with similar groups such as the Battle Disney Princesses and the Armored Sailor Moon designs) for coloring and shading. With those final designs finished, both of them felt that the Eeveelutions needed a weapon to go along with the costume. So why not enlist Zach Fischer (he designed Jessica Nigri's Lady Deathwing!) for that? The weapons made are really fitting for some of the cosplays you see up above! Zach was also part of the main creation for this group but mostly focused on the weapons!
With the Valkyreevees, there were 9 slots to fill. Becka and Gladzy stepped in as Eevee and Sylveon respectively, but what about the remaining 7? Try roping in Danielle Beaulieu, Joanna Mari, Andy Rae, Lyz Brickley, Jessica Nigri, Hooked on Phoenix, and Caroline Dawe! I mean it seems like the obvious choice right? The end result that these ladies created is nothing short of epic and magical. Now for this Showcase, I'm going to try and not make this super crazy long. Only because I have a bunch of incredible photos to share with you guys. In this, I'm pretty much going to sum up how these cosplays were created. This is because when I was looking at the photos, they were all similar in what materials were used. Plus I'm sure you guys don't want me to mention EVA Foam, Worbla, etc a bunch of times right?

Each of the Eeveelutions have a distinct flair to them with some common elements/features. For example, the Valkyrie aspect comes into play with the giant wings attached on the sides of each of the helmets. The armor work also varies from cosplay to cosplay. Jessica's Jolteon is a lot more jagged and edges and lightning bolt designs on her breastplate. Fur was also used to signify the white fur that some of the evolutions have. Becka's Eevee has a full coat wrapped around near her neck on the top part. Joanna has yellow/orange fur on pretty much the same area for Flareon, you get the idea right?
Fabric can be seen commonly used for the ladies leg area. HoP's Umbreon has black high heels with some armor plating in the front. Caroline is wearing full leggings in addition to boots with some armor pieces around them for Glaceon. Gladzy is also wearing boots with armor in the front. Color wise, each of the girls stay true to each of their respective Pokemon. Andy's Vaporeon is a swarm of blue and gold, Sylveon is straight up cotton candy with pink and blue, Lyz's Leafeon is more earthy with its green and brown.

Some of the ladies added in some stellar makeup like with Danielle's Espeon, forehead covered in purple. Jess has a white stripe going across her face, Joanna has red drips on her eyes, there's just so much I could go into. For the weapons, Zach took a look at the finished designs and I imagine talked it out with Becka and Gladzy about what would fit for each Eeveelution. I can pretty much agree with most of them! Eevee is suited up with a sword and shield, the latter which is decorated with symbols of the other elements it can evolve into! What I love about this is that the symbols are the ones used from the Trading Card Game! How rad is that? Vaporeon being water based, has a trident, Umbreon is equipped with dual daggers, Espeon has a tall beautiful staff, Glaceon and Leafeon definitely mean business with a mace and axe respectively. The way the mace came out looks so awesome so major props to Caroline in its construction!

Lyz even posted a time lapse video of her creating the axe! Jolteon is wielding a thunder staff, and rounding out the group are Flareon and Sylveon equipped with bows. Some other personal favorite things that I want to touch on are mainly compliments to the design. I know Andy modified Vaporeon to show a little less skin but it turned out to be one of my favorites out of the whole group. The way scales and fishnets were implemented is just so damn awesome. Lyz's cape has a very beautiful design alongside its bottom, Jess' posing makes her look fierce, the ice blue/white color scheme on Caroline's Glaceon is so pretty, and HoP's Umbreon overall makes her look more of a thief like character. PRETTY MUCH PERFECT!
As I mentioned in the beginning, each of these cosplays were made with a varied combination of foam, and Worbla (normal and black). The paint jobs are on point and some of the best I've seen. I apologize if I missed some other key points or if I talked about one Eeveelution more so than the others. Just know that I love the ever living fuck out of all of them. All the ladies part of this group should be damn proud of this, serious props to Becka, Gladzy and Zach for creating such awesome designs! With that being said, I'll shut up now and swarm you all with pictures! Enjoy guys! :D
