Shutting One Door, Keeping others Open

UPDATED ON 8/20/21: Facebook, Patreon and Blog IG pages have been shutdown/discontinued As the COVID pandemic rages on and cons are even shutting down into 2021, it got me thinking on a drive home one night about how I'd feel with even coming back to blogging. When cons eventually do come back at some point. Truth be told, many of the posts and content I shared here could be transferred over to more discussions via my podcast CosplayBytes. I've been blogging my love for games, cons and cosplay for 7 years now and maybe it's time to say goodbye for now? My podcast has gotten me some incredible opportunities as a member of Press for conventions, and the rapid love I've had for streaming is also taking up a lot of time now. On top of multiple personal things on my end, I don't think I have the energy to keep this up even post COVID you know? The very first cosplay centered post I wrote was on Jessica Nigri's Deadpool, and since then it's spawned over 800 posts

Cosplay Feature: Deanna Davis' Injustice Green Arrow!

At New York Comic Con this year, cosplayer Deanna Davis constructed a genderbent version of Green Arrow as he appears in the video game Injustice: Gods Among Us! This was done for the company she was working with at the con Triforce Props! I got to see this outfit in person and let me tell you, it was completely badass looking. The varying shades of green Deanna used for making this suit are awesome. The small spots of yellow also complement the full cosplay really well. Add in the fact that she made arrows and used the bow provided by Triforce, lots of amazing poses were achievable! For Deanna, Oliver Queen is one of those heroes she can somewhat relate too with both of them having a skill in archery (how cool is that?). The arm/leg pads and the hood look like they're of a very soft fleece-like material which looks so cool you guys!

Deanna used what looks like to be black boots with armor plating over them. These are of course decorated green and yellow. She also has black knee pads and straps throughout the outfit. I love this cosplay so much you guys, both because Deanna is such a fantastic cosplayer and my DC biased nature is showing :). The poses she makes in the pictures perfectly capture Green Arrow's nature and attitude. Plus the various lighting effects used in the photos give the green sections lots of options.

What I mean by that is that sometimes the outfit looks regular, some parts look brighter, or some look darker. Such like the photo Deanna took on the left! She utilized shadow effects (I can assume at least) to really show contrast on her main bodysuit. The weathering effects she used on her arm guards and legs are just so badass! This cosplay overall is just so well done and I can tell Deanna had an absolute blast making it :D. Enjoy the other pictures I have for you guys!
