Amie Lynn is a cosplayer from Arizona, who has been going at it for a while now. She has an aspiring love for various franchises such as Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy. She is also a part of the cosplay group XX (also based in Arizona). Amie’s cosplays include Wonder Woman, Female Raiden, Mei Ling, Lightning from Final Fantasy 13 and many more!

What is your Name?

Amie Lynn

Where are you from?

The desert (aka Arizona). LOLZ

How long have you been cosplaying?

Almost 5 years now.

What is your favorite cosplay you’ve made so far?

It's always been my Lightning costume, I felt very classy. :P

Are there any upcoming outfits that you are able to share/tell?

A very special LOL costume that is exclusively made for The Wild Places photo shoot, which will be taken at the end of this month.

How did you get into cosplay?

Friends mainly! I'm glad they introduced me or else my life would be much more boring than it is now hehe

Who’s your favorite video game character?

The Boss from MGS3. <3

Who’s your favorite comic book character?

Wonder Woman or The Flash.

What was a memorable con moment? Worst con moment?

Going with the right group of friends makes or breaks my convention experience. My favorite con experience was my first AX and my first group cosplay with friends. Cosplaying as a group allowed us to hang out together, rather than being pulled aside separately. Worst con experience…. Any time I have a wardrobe malfunction…. ;_;

Do you have a Favorite convention you go to/been to?

I love Anime Expo! It's really my favorite. San Diego Comic Con is great too, though I go there to geek out more than to cosplay though.

What advice would you offer to those that want to get into cosplay?

Don't be afraid to reach out to others! Even still, I ask other cosplayers at conventions and message them about their craft and how they made certain pieces. Being prideful or nervous is silly, especially when there are so many kind people willing to give any advice they can. ^^

What is your favorite part of cosplaying as a character?

I enjoy that moment when someone goes nuts over your character, because you both get to nerd out together for a split second! Also when people actually recognize you and take the time to talk about the character and the game/anime/comic! It's so great! :)

How did you make this cosplay?

I used Worbla for the first time on this costume! It is seriously a miracle material for cosplayers. There is a lot of craft foam as well. :)

How long did it take you to make?

Just under two weeks! It was pretty nerve-racking, because I got very ill during about halfway through, but I wanted to finish in time for PAX East, so I powered through it. Cosplayer problems. Haha!

Conclusion:

Amie really is a talented cosplayer, who no doubt shows her love for each character through the hard work she puts in each outfit. I'm very excited to see what new outfits she'll create next! If you want to follow her work:
