Cosplay Feature: Laney Feni's Supergirl!

Photo by Maze Studio The last time I shared cosplayer Laney Feni, it was via her amazing Fem Aquaman cosplay she did a few years ago. Originally for today's piece I wanted to gush over how stellar she looks in her Post-Apocalyptic version of Supergirl but that led me to sharing with you another version that's more of the character's classic look. If you were to dive into her cosplay portfolio, Laney has definitely cosplayed Kara Zor-El numerous times but this version draws heavy inspiration in both the design and feel of the old Zack Snyder take on Superman. Between this classic design and the other variant I mentioned earlier, the only difference really boils down to pants and the cape's use. We'll get to that later of course! For starters, Kara's look here consists of a long sleeved tank top like piece and pants with the midriff being shown. I'm pretty sure that this is Laney's natural hair too which really is perfect for Supergirl!

Cosplay Feature: Kristen Hughey's Janna! BEHOLD THE BEAUTY!

You can probably tell that I both have the biggest cosplay crush on Kristen Hughey along with feeling incredibly lucky that she's such a sweet friend to have. When I saw that Kristen was planning to do Janna from League of Legends, my excitement shot up :D. Janna is one of those characters that I just infinitely love from her gorgeous design. I featured Jessica Nigri's Janna a while back last year I think so this was a no brainer. With the cosplay being the default outfit, you got the white and gold color scheme. Alongside her signature staff, the gold inserts definitely shine in the pictures. Kristen here has the breastplate placed around her chest. The lower parts of the cosplay consist of the center piece and her hip armors. They all look to be done with the same materials of foam and or Worbla.

I really admire Kristen's figure in this cosplay. Everything just falls into place so perfectly! The golden designs on the armor stand out with the gem stones taking center place. Her hands are covered with white gloves of sorts and gold trimmings on the edge. The crown looks to be done the same way as the top section of Kristen's staff. Upon taking a closer look, I saw that the staff itself was done with PVC pipe being my best guess! Elf ears can be seen here which match up to Janna's design.

The hip armor have an interesting shape with a round part curving upwards on a point. White drapes are seen in the bottom section. Pose wise, Kristen looks incredibly elegant and this is definitely one cosplay I would love to see in person. Her face looks so radiant too! Already see myself making one of the pictures my background soon :D. Take a look at the other pictures and see for yourself! I may be getting my hopes up but it would be amazing if I got to match with her at RICC this year <3.

If you haven't checked out Kristen Hughey on FB, you must fix that ASAP! She's been so amazing to me and I'm lucky I have her support in the many things I do cosplay wise! I promise the 2nd part of our interview will happen, either at RI Comic Con or afterwards. Some questions I definitely want to ask her that should go into more specific details about Kristen! Love ya lots :)
