Cosplay Feature: Lisa Mancini's Magik!

The Marvel Rivals cosplays keep on coming with various iterations of Magik done by cosplayer Lisa Mancini. Specifically, I have three versions that she's done over the last year or two since the cosplay was made & debuted. I myself am not too well-versed to the character so I'm mostly gonna be focusing on the outfit structure and how it's formed around Lisa. For starters, Magik's base costume starts off with a long platinum blonde wig with some wings added on top. Most likely this is done via a headband piece added in. Her main chest piece looks to be a tank top base in black with an armor chest piece layered on top. It does go all the way up to Lisa's neck so I have to wonder if she had any trouble moving her head around while wearing this. Magik has a mixture of long and short sleeved coverings for her arms. There's also different pauldrons on the shoulders. One of which is smoothed out with what I believe is the X-Men symbol on one and the other is covere...

Cosplay Feature: Victoria Schmidt's Tron Legacy Dress

One of the big things going around the cosplay community is SyFy's new show "Heroes of Cosplay". The show focuses on several cosplayers as they travel to conventions and mainly compete in the competitions held there. I'm not too entirely in favor of the show as it being a reality show, it portrays these immensely talented people as somewhat bitchy/catty which in all honesty is the exact OPPOSITE of how they are in real life which is down to earth and super sweet. Having met 2 of them in person and interacting with some online I know this for a FACT.

All that aside it does show some of the amazing skill sets that each cosplayer has and one outfit I loved seeing was Victoria's Tron Legacy inspired dress. Not only does she look fabulous in it but the amount of work is just so inspiring. It was especially interesting how the light-up parts were handled by her boyfriend Jinyo (who is a complete badass I might add) from wiring underneath the dress and going through the back of her heels. Plus (and I may get the number wrong so oops on my part) it took about I want to say over 15 AA batteries to light the whole thing. Light up glow tape was used for the main sections of the dress as were little lights alongside the trim at the bottom of the dress. I also remember from seeing it on the show that the dress was detachable along the bottom so it could look a little bit shorter which was so cool to see.

Turns out that this version of the dress on the show was version 3.0 as Jinyo puts it in his little blog where I read up about the outfit. Having came up with the design initially, it seems that he wasn't satisfied with the first 2. Not that this is a bad thing considering my Nightwing has undergone 2 remakes/upgrades as of now and I couldn't be happier. This dress has its original form underneath the detachable part as mentioned above which at first makes it look like an incredible ball gown. The heart shaped disk prop was also a very nice addition!

I won't go into the crazy details so instead i'll provide pictures of it!! Note that these are all of version 2.0 of the dress (I think). Props to Victoria and Jinyo for making a totally awesome dress! Oh and it should be stated that Victoria LOVES TRON so hence why this dress was made :).
