Cosplay Feature: Laney Feni's Supergirl!

Photo by Maze Studio The last time I shared cosplayer Laney Feni, it was via her amazing Fem Aquaman cosplay she did a few years ago. Originally for today's piece I wanted to gush over how stellar she looks in her Post-Apocalyptic version of Supergirl but that led me to sharing with you another version that's more of the character's classic look. If you were to dive into her cosplay portfolio, Laney has definitely cosplayed Kara Zor-El numerous times but this version draws heavy inspiration in both the design and feel of the old Zack Snyder take on Superman. Between this classic design and the other variant I mentioned earlier, the only difference really boils down to pants and the cape's use. We'll get to that later of course! For starters, Kara's look here consists of a long sleeved tank top like piece and pants with the midriff being shown. I'm pretty sure that this is Laney's natural hair too which really is perfect for Supergirl!

Cosplay Feature: Rebecca Denise's Elizabeth

For this week's cosplay feature I have another talented lady from the SyFy show "Heroes of Cosplay" with an outfit that was shown in the last episode. Rebecca (Becky in the show) went and created an Elizabeth costume from the highly praised game Bioshock Infinite. In the photos I have down below, the fabric she used was very beautiful and I especially love how the wig looks on her. The corset has darkish blue accent lines throughout and the neck choker is made from lace material. I'm going to take a guess and say that the game was not out yet when she made this cosplay. That being because the brooch Elizabeth wears in the game is not present here. This is completely fine as most cosplayers when they see a newly revealed character, will want to create it well before the actual game is released.

What's also interesting is that for the episode this was shown in, Becky wanted to add a little prop for Elizabeth for the competition she entered it in. So she and her roommate Lance constructed the balcony of flowers shown in one of the first game trailers with the added effect of a pump which shot flowers out of it, just like in the trailer. I found it to be a very interesting idea and am very happy that it worked out for them. Here are some pictures of Becky in the cosplay sans the balcony prop!
