Shutting One Door, Keeping others Open

UPDATED ON 8/20/21: Facebook, Patreon and Blog IG pages have been shutdown/discontinued As the COVID pandemic rages on and cons are even shutting down into 2021, it got me thinking on a drive home one night about how I'd feel with even coming back to blogging. When cons eventually do come back at some point. Truth be told, many of the posts and content I shared here could be transferred over to more discussions via my podcast CosplayBytes. I've been blogging my love for games, cons and cosplay for 7 years now and maybe it's time to say goodbye for now? My podcast has gotten me some incredible opportunities as a member of Press for conventions, and the rapid love I've had for streaming is also taking up a lot of time now. On top of multiple personal things on my end, I don't think I have the energy to keep this up even post COVID you know? The very first cosplay centered post I wrote was on Jessica Nigri's Deadpool, and since then it's spawned over 800 posts

Cosplay Feature: Hendo Art's Insomniac Black Cat!

One game that's been on everyone's brain since its release in September is the Spider Man game from Insomniac for the PS4. Wide critical acclaim and stunning gameplay, I've certainly enjoyed watching LP's of the game online. For the game's post-release, there are 3 sets of DLC storylines planned and one of which focused in around Spidey's former girlfriend Felicia Hardy, AKA the Black Cat. Most people have a general idea as to how the thief is designed but Insomniac went and did a redesign of her suit alongside Spider Man and many other characters in the game. In the lead up to the game's release, cosplayer Hendo Art was invited to not only create the outfit, but also team up with Marvel and be a part of Marvel's Becoming series which has cosplayers transform into their beloved characters.

Hendo's Black Cat is a full on black body suit done in latex as it appears. Various white lines cover the cosplay and look like the separate the outfit into sections. Lines on her neck piece, arms and shoulders looking like armor in place, and so on. The arms are outfitted with gauntlets done in white with some black parts to them. This is then replicated down for her legs. Small heels make up the footwear and they also have a white trim to them along the bottoms. Small claws can be seen attached to her fingertips as well!

The mask is a traditional domino style with points sticking up near the top. Very much resembling cat ears so I feel that's what the developers were going for. Hendo also is rocking a beautiful silver/white wig with front bangs and a ponytail done up in the back. The cosplay itself was debuted at NYCC this past October to coincide with the release of the Black Cat DLC where Felicia played a prominent role. The photos have Hendo against walls around the convention which honestly couldn't be more perfect since SHE WAS IN NEW YORK. Check out these shots!
