Shutting One Door, Keeping others Open

UPDATED ON 8/20/21: Facebook, Patreon and Blog IG pages have been shutdown/discontinued As the COVID pandemic rages on and cons are even shutting down into 2021, it got me thinking on a drive home one night about how I'd feel with even coming back to blogging. When cons eventually do come back at some point. Truth be told, many of the posts and content I shared here could be transferred over to more discussions via my podcast CosplayBytes. I've been blogging my love for games, cons and cosplay for 7 years now and maybe it's time to say goodbye for now? My podcast has gotten me some incredible opportunities as a member of Press for conventions, and the rapid love I've had for streaming is also taking up a lot of time now. On top of multiple personal things on my end, I don't think I have the energy to keep this up even post COVID you know? The very first cosplay centered post I wrote was on Jessica Nigri's Deadpool, and since then it's spawned over 800 posts

STRUCK FIRST: Byndo Gehk as Oshawott!

Struck First gives you a first look at a cosplay just as it's been debuted/had its first photoshoot. Cosplayers have been kind enough to let me have a first crack at analyzing the cosplay by providing me with brand new pictures.

ColossalCon has become a tradition for Byndo Gehk in making bikini cosplays based around the Water starters from Pokemon. With Oshawott, she's slowly creeping up on Sun/Moon which currently are the latest iterations of the long running franchise. Here's hoping new entries stop coming out like clockwork for her to catch up XD. For the otter Pokemon, Byndo has a two piece bikini with a material that's very similar to what she created for the others in the past. What's different however is that Byndo is in a sense, more covered with the additions of the long white sleeves and gown starting from her waist. The bikini itself is covered with several seashells along the bottom of the top. Draped alongside the white gown are even more seashells at the top.

Both of the ends on the sleeves are adorned with puffy frills which matches up with Oshawott's particular designs. The seashells are also a huge deal as the Pokemon has a signature move utilizing them. Other parts of the cosplay include a bigger seashell used as a prop and a crown comprised of them as well.  These seashells look to have been done with some kind of foam or light material. Byndo has an incredibly cute white wig on with 2 blue balls acting like ears next to the crown.

She also has makeup in the form of freckles and HOLY CUTE <3. If you haven't realized through my past features, ColossalCon has a fantastic setting/background so of course the photos are absolutely stellar. Both having the waterpark and the wide green areas do nothing but enhance how dang cute Byndo looks in this cosplay. Seriously this girl gives me so much life and happiness with every cosplay she creates. This being created thanks to help from Patreon, I can only see Byndo increase her skills even more for some incredible builds. Hopefully you all enjoy the photos that follow!
