Around pretty much the same time as Megawatt Cosplay made/debuted her amazing Mera cosplay, she of course needed a King of Atlantis beside her right? That's where her awesome friend Laney Jade comes in who's also the main focus of today's Showcase! Laney's genderbend of Aquaman has main cues from Arthur Curry's color scheme of gold and green. There's also hints of Jason Mamoa's upcoming iteration in the form of the tattoos that decorate Laney's left arm. The cosplay consists of a small breastplate top, skin tight green pants, and varying armor pieces. Also, golden leg armor make an appearance down near the bottom. Both arms have an armguard of sorts whereas one shoulder piece is strapped on via bands that hold the arm pieces in place. The detailing on these pieces is pretty rad with my best guess being Worbla was used in the creation process. The belt alongside her waist is positioned at a slightly lower angle and looks to be of a thick material though it could also be the photos playing tricks on your eyes!

The breastplate looks very similar to the way Megawatt made hers for Mera. If that's the case, then the underside must be layered with a soft like material so that it rests comfortable on Laney's chest. Her trident prop towers over her and looks to be fit for a real ruler of Atlantis (compared to my own which while tall, wasn't as impressive in the top area). The leg armor down below consists of two shin pieces which have little notches and designs all over them. The boots underneath are colored gold and don't travel that far up her legs.
The only other thing left about this cosplay is Laney's hair which honestly having seen pics of her before, I can't tell if that's her real hair or an awesome wig. Whatever the case, it's long and super bright, working well with the whole cosplay. The photos I picked out for you guys definitely show Laney being strong and standing tall since she clearly will take no shit from anybody as Aquaman XD. Also the tattoo recreation on her arm is pretty freaking solid. Check out the photos for some impressive edits too!

I've checked out Laney's FB page while picking out photos and not only does she seem like to be a total sweetheart, but there's several other DC Comics cosplays under her belt so you definitely haven't seen the last of her here :D. Go check it out and see for yourselves!
