Shutting One Door, Keeping others Open

UPDATED ON 8/20/21: Facebook, Patreon and Blog IG pages have been shutdown/discontinued As the COVID pandemic rages on and cons are even shutting down into 2021, it got me thinking on a drive home one night about how I'd feel with even coming back to blogging. When cons eventually do come back at some point. Truth be told, many of the posts and content I shared here could be transferred over to more discussions via my podcast CosplayBytes. I've been blogging my love for games, cons and cosplay for 7 years now and maybe it's time to say goodbye for now? My podcast has gotten me some incredible opportunities as a member of Press for conventions, and the rapid love I've had for streaming is also taking up a lot of time now. On top of multiple personal things on my end, I don't think I have the energy to keep this up even post COVID you know? The very first cosplay centered post I wrote was on Jessica Nigri's Deadpool, and since then it's spawned over 800 posts

Cosplay Showcase: Lara Lunardi's Alter Egos!

I fangirl over cosplayer Lara Lunardi a whole lot. More so recently than I have in the past and it's definitely noted if you follow me on my various social media sites. I wanted to feature her again but couldn't hone in one outfit that had multiple outfits. So I thought why not gather a collection of various cosplays she's done instead? You'll notice that all the cosplays in question are superhero related which I guess is relevant since in today's world, superhero movies are prevalent with both Marvel and DC chugging out films left and right. The characters go from Black Widow to Phoenix and even Catwoman. I'm gonna talk about each cosplay as much as I can with the photos I have as a reference. Then of course will be the photo dump so you guys can see what I'm gushing about and why I adore Lara so much <3.

Her Black Widow that you see above is her more typical outfit. Full on black bodysuit with a variety of pouches around her waist. I wouldn't be surprised if there were holster slips on her legs too. Just cause that's the kind of character Black Widow is. I also absolutely love the auburn/orange wig she has going on in the cosplay. It pulls the cosplay together as a whole and for me makes Lara's makeup stand out big time. I wonder if this suit is just a generic Black Widow suit or if it's more-so the movie version. I'm willing to place bets on the latter because the other photo I have of this cosplay, I'm able to make out the SHIELD logo!

Another cosplay of Lara's I admire is her Phoenix cosplay from X-Men! Jean Grey has had many alterations to her suit and namesake, with the cosplay that Lara made, I think it's part of the Phoenix Five? I could be totally dead wrong since X-Men is NOT my strong suit by any means XD. In any case, the cosplay again looks to be a one piece bodysuit brightly colored in red and gold. There's also the character's logo brazened across her chest in black/gold. Lara wears the outfit incredible well and I find it to be very flattering to her. She also has a fire red/orange wig which is perfect for the character.

The gloves and boots are gold along with the matching sash across her waist. Lara is also big in creating images to bring the character to life so there's another shot edited to a fire background. I managed to find one shot of her Scarlet Witch cosplay which is definitely the classic take on the character that most fans are familiar with. You got the red crown on top of her head, the cape flowing from the back, and the main bodysuit piece taking more of a leotard shape. The red and black work well together here. Underneath the whole cosplay sees Lara covered in a pink mesh like suit or something like that. It helps give off the fishnet style when it comes to her legs and whatnot. The deep brown wig is absolutely gorgeous here too!

Lastly, I have everyone's favorite feline burglar that Batman just can't seem to take his eyes off of. Lara's Catwoman is a big favorite of mine. Again, it's a full black suit complete with the cowl that encases the top of her head. I kinda like how her hair peeks out of it, gives off a wild look to her, like Selina can't be tamed even by the Dark Knight. The selfie I have of Lara in this cosplay shows a more up close look of the cosplay. Straps can be seen on the suit whereas none are seen in the image above. The lipstick she chose in that pic is also on point and makes me swoon like crazy <3. Goggles are seen at the top of cowl and I have to say, the small ears are really cute. The gloves have sharp tips on her fingers as well! Being the sultry character she is, there's also the whole zipper partly open to expose her chest thing too XD. Also, the goggles are curved upward with points to resemble cat ears!

That's pretty much all I have to say on the photos I picked out for you all. Forgive me if I missed any details but I think I got pretty much everything! Enjoy the other photos :)
