Shutting One Door, Keeping others Open

UPDATED ON 8/20/21: Facebook, Patreon and Blog IG pages have been shutdown/discontinued As the COVID pandemic rages on and cons are even shutting down into 2021, it got me thinking on a drive home one night about how I'd feel with even coming back to blogging. When cons eventually do come back at some point. Truth be told, many of the posts and content I shared here could be transferred over to more discussions via my podcast CosplayBytes. I've been blogging my love for games, cons and cosplay for 7 years now and maybe it's time to say goodbye for now? My podcast has gotten me some incredible opportunities as a member of Press for conventions, and the rapid love I've had for streaming is also taking up a lot of time now. On top of multiple personal things on my end, I don't think I have the energy to keep this up even post COVID you know? The very first cosplay centered post I wrote was on Jessica Nigri's Deadpool, and since then it's spawned over 800 posts

Cosplay Feature: Ultra Girls Cosplay looking Fabulous!

I always love when the Ultra Girls have a duo cosplay that really capture my eye. Whether it's matching outfits or completely different characters, I get excited when they announce some of their upcoming outfits. Such is the case with the cosplays I have for you today. Cissa and Sophii created Morrigan (Darkstalkers) and Cloud (Final Fantasy 7) respectively and had a chance to shoot them both a few months ago if memory serves. I absolutely loved how both of these cosplays turned out and was fangirling on the inside since these characters are some of my all time favorites. Why not start with Cissa? For Morrigan, she went with the classic look for her. A black leotard like top makes up the base of it with purple tights covering her legs. The tights themselves have the signature bat patterns throughout. On the suit, the heart seems to be sewn in and of tan coloring rather than having the suit cut out into the shape like seen on other Morrigan cosplays.

Cissa's arms are also covered in a much lighter purple fabric. Not to mention also the bunches of white fluff/fur that's seen on the outer trim of the main suit. I love how that looks in the pictures as well. Rounding out the rest of the cosplay are the wings that are on her head PLUS the giant ones coming out of her back. The wings on Cissa's head also look super cute here. In terms of posing, she really captures Morrigan's seductive nature and the landscape style shots look amazing!

Moving on to Sophii, she cosplayed everyone's favorite brooding Ex-SOLDIER Cloud! Much like Cissa's Morrigan, I got super excited when I saw pictures of this pop up. Sophii here is cosplaying as the Advent Children version. So it's black on black on black, with leather straps and the signature shoulder pad. The wolf insignia is also done super well, possibly sculpted! Sophii is also wearing a gorgeous wig and she just looks so badass as well.

Zippers can be seen all over the place and there's a slight sex appeal element with this being a gender bend and all that! The black/red background for both cosplays really work well together though it can be a bit hard to make out some of Sophii's cosplay. I'd love to see her tackle the infamous Buster Sword one day, maybe that's a future project for her? Both these cosplays are just incredible and the Ultra Girls NEVER disappoint <3. Enjoy the other pictures guys!
