Shutting One Door, Keeping others Open

UPDATED ON 8/20/21: Facebook, Patreon and Blog IG pages have been shutdown/discontinued As the COVID pandemic rages on and cons are even shutting down into 2021, it got me thinking on a drive home one night about how I'd feel with even coming back to blogging. When cons eventually do come back at some point. Truth be told, many of the posts and content I shared here could be transferred over to more discussions via my podcast CosplayBytes. I've been blogging my love for games, cons and cosplay for 7 years now and maybe it's time to say goodbye for now? My podcast has gotten me some incredible opportunities as a member of Press for conventions, and the rapid love I've had for streaming is also taking up a lot of time now. On top of multiple personal things on my end, I don't think I have the energy to keep this up even post COVID you know? The very first cosplay centered post I wrote was on Jessica Nigri's Deadpool, and since then it's spawned over 800 posts

Cosplay Feature: Li Kovacs loves The Legend of Zelda.

No that's not a promotional image for the 3DS Remake for Ocarina of Time but it sure as hell could be one right? Today I wanted to feature cosplayer Li Kovacs and her undying love for The Legend of Zelda. Mostly she's been able to work alongside Nintendo promoting their games through her cosplays, these include various versions of Link and Pit from Kid Icarus: Uprising. This has also led her to meet some influential figures in the company such as Reggie Fiis-Amie, Eji Anouma, Shigeru Miyamoto, you know...those guys :).

Li has an impeccable eye for detail that makes her practically the spitting image of a real life Link. From the patterns on the tunic and gloves to the way the Hylian Shield and Master Sword look, really I just absolutely love the work she puts out. The various versions of Link (which you can see below) are also a nice touch as Li isn't afraid to do something other than the classic look Link's been known for. Each outfit has its own distinct look and feel and the backgrounds for each photo just compliments the outfit in a unique way. The way the blonde wig looks along with the elf ears is also awesome! Li even has the Ocarina seen above!

It wasn't long after I started following that I realized she was at my very first convention I attended (PAX East 2012). It looked like she was hired by Nintendo to promote the upcoming release to Kid Icarus Uprising, and while I did take pictures they came out downright awful so I got rid of them haha.
