Cosplay Feature: Laney Feni's Supergirl!

Photo by Maze Studio The last time I shared cosplayer Laney Feni, it was via her amazing Fem Aquaman cosplay she did a few years ago. Originally for today's piece I wanted to gush over how stellar she looks in her Post-Apocalyptic version of Supergirl but that led me to sharing with you another version that's more of the character's classic look. If you were to dive into her cosplay portfolio, Laney has definitely cosplayed Kara Zor-El numerous times but this version draws heavy inspiration in both the design and feel of the old Zack Snyder take on Superman. Between this classic design and the other variant I mentioned earlier, the only difference really boils down to pants and the cape's use. We'll get to that later of course! For starters, Kara's look here consists of a long sleeved tank top like piece and pants with the midriff being shown. I'm pretty sure that this is Laney's natural hair too which really is perfect for Supergirl!

Cosplay Feature: Punished Props!

In keeping with prop makers this week I wanted to also feature an awesome prop maker named Bill Doran or as he goes on the internet as Chinbeard or by his business name of Punished Props! In addition to creating incredible cosplays such as Dragur Warriors from Skyrim, he also handles props and commissions whether they be guns from Mass Effect, or swords and shields! I'm always impressed by how accurate his props always come out and have wondered if one day I should get something commissioned from him should it ever be needed!

M-5 Phalanx from Mass Effect
From what I've learned, most of the guns are casted and set in resin. As mentioned above Bill and his wife created matching Dragur cosplays this year and no doubt they were a hit! Watching his videos and tutorials are very interesting and I'm definitely liking the setup he has for his workshop! Other props created were for other cosplayers such as a rifle and blade for Jessica Nigri's Naussica Cosplay, Xenoblade, and rifles from Starcraft, Halo, etc. I've included other pictures of finished props for you to gaze upon! Seriously if you ever need to have something commissioned, I would definitely recommend Punished Props! ^_^

Risty's Mace and Shield from Queen's Blade.

Dragur Deathlords!

Hyperion Plasma Caster from Borderlands!

Rifle and Blade from Naussica: Valley of the Wind
