Shutting One Door, Keeping others Open

UPDATED ON 8/20/21: Facebook, Patreon and Blog IG pages have been shutdown/discontinued As the COVID pandemic rages on and cons are even shutting down into 2021, it got me thinking on a drive home one night about how I'd feel with even coming back to blogging. When cons eventually do come back at some point. Truth be told, many of the posts and content I shared here could be transferred over to more discussions via my podcast CosplayBytes. I've been blogging my love for games, cons and cosplay for 7 years now and maybe it's time to say goodbye for now? My podcast has gotten me some incredible opportunities as a member of Press for conventions, and the rapid love I've had for streaming is also taking up a lot of time now. On top of multiple personal things on my end, I don't think I have the energy to keep this up even post COVID you know? The very first cosplay centered post I wrote was on Jessica Nigri's Deadpool, and since then it's spawned over 800 posts

Cosplay Showcase: Osanguine Cosplay's Radiant Tarecgosa

Warcraft centered cosplays are always a stand out to me due to the sheer amount of detail that goes into the outfits. Today, I have Osanguine Cosplay in a stunning recreation of Radiant Tarecgosa from WoW. Some quick backstory for you guys, Tarecgosa is part of the Blue Dragonflight which is heavily associated with magic in the Warcraft universe. Like most prolific members, this is her human form taking in the guise of an elf. This Radiant form is actually a fan made design that cosplayer Cinderys made in addition to other Dragon Aspects. The concept captured Osanguine thus compelled her to create it. Immediately at the top you have this impressive and large headdress in a glorious shade of blue. That and silver seem to be mainstays throughout the whole cosplay. Some of the post editing of the pics actually turn the blue into a purple shade which I really love.

As I started off, the headdress looks to be attached in the back somehow. It gives off this highly raised collar look. Black dragon horns are on top of the blue wig and are draped with blue fabric straps that are connected and form a U shape. It looks as if it's surrounding her face. Within these straps are a variety of runes in silver in addition to a trim in the same color. Osanguine's wig is seriously a perfect shade of dark blue and looks to go on till her shoulders. Then you have twin shoulder-plates which are layered up in multiple sections. A resin stone looks to be resting on each of them PLUS the fabric straps seen earlier near her head.

Truthfully, these look to be simple in design, which makes sense given that the rest of the cosplay is nuts! For the chest piece, it looks to start immediately after the U shape and travels to just above the stomach. Leaving some exposure before the lower section comes into play. Another resin stone comes into play dead center and I love the silver patterning on top of the blue. For the arms, she's rocking long blue gloves with armor gauntlets on top which is pretty much a common practice now for armor based cosplays. The bracers again match the whole color scheme. I imagine it must felt great to have fully free fingers to move XD. Finger armor can certainly be a pain!

Before getting into the bottom section, there's also a small triangle piece up at the top of her wig which is also nestled with a resin stone! It certainly looks like blue pants/tights are used as a base for this part. The hip armors are quite large and have that classic patterning which I had thought was a layered look. It's actually the silver layout that makes it look that way. The blue section is just a plain full coloring. There's a center part on this same level with a stone in the center. Its design specifically in the trim gives off a tabard like feel. Fabric and several more stones can be seen hanging off this area as well. The shot above is the only one I was able to find that gives off a great look at the full leg armor situation. This consists of what looks to be one piece strapped on/attached and then heels full on blue in color. The heels also have some armor pieces attached as well. I CERTAINLY DIDN'T FORGET THE BLUE CAPE COMING OFF THE BACK <3.

Towards the bottom of said cape is little bits of wear and tear. The added photo effects really make this cosplay come to life and I certainly hope Osanguine felt a huge sense of accomplishment in finishing it! I truly hope you guys enjoy the shots and gawking over the details like I have!
