Cosplay Feature: Gray Oranges' Rikku!

Photo by David Ngo I won't ever shy away from writing about cosplays of Rikku's look from Final Fantasy X-2 and Gray Orange did a fantastic job portraying her in both the overall cosplay look PLUS the pose work. Of course I'll get to all that in due time but let's start at the top! It's certainly a cosplay worn for several events and I want to say I first saw this in the overall collection of MAGFest photos back in January of this year. I really love how the multiple braid strands are integrated into the blonde wig for starters. I can't tell if they're either part of the wig itself or the blue headband that's wrapped around. In any case, following this is a red scarf wrapped around Irini's neck before you then get to the yellow bikini top. Here, you can also see orange trim lines as part of the piece. Oh, I forgot to mention that the red scarf actually travels all the way down to her legs. These end points then transition to a yellow/orange gradient!

Cosplay Showcase: Akakioga's Zelda!

I always love sharing Akakioga's cosplay work and her BotW Zelda is no exception. In cosplaying as the iconic princess, there were some pretty fantastic photos taken as the end result! A fully purchased outfit, Akakioga goes full royalty in the gown and I love how this is overall designed. Starting from the top, you've got a high white collar that extends into a white chest cover at the bottom. The shoulders look stuffed/propped up and have that pointed style to them. In addition to the white collar, a blue collar with red insides is visible and also pointed up. One thing you'll find that's repeated throughout the cosplay is multiple golden trim lines to of course reference the golden Triforce. Lower on that white cover, you have imagery referencing parts of the full Hylian crest.

Just underneath the blue portion of the chest area, you have a white band that looks to be on Akakioga's torso section. The top rim consists of golden patterns with the Triforce dead center. Quickly jumping to the arms before things get really crazy, the sleeves look super puffed up. A gold band is just above the elbow before evolving into loose sleeves of blue with gold trim. The inner portion of this is also of a deep shade of red. This drapes down pretty far on Akakioga. The remainder of the sleeves is full blown white with a pretty pattern on the tops of her hands.

The gown itself looks to consist of blue sections on the side that open up into a lot of white in the center. Towards the bottom of the side areas you get even more fantastical patterns in gold. It also looks to be slightly layered here as well! At the very start of this I should add that there's a gold belt with a strap traveling down the middle. This is full blown gold in color. Also, Akakioga's hair is so freaking cute and I love the cut! Elven ears top it all off.

Some of the photos you'll see in the remainder of this post look to have been taken in a very fancy location which really hits home the royalty that Zelda comes from. I can absolutely imagine these being concept art pieces for an official Zelda game. Her facial expressions are very calm and serene too. Guys I just love this so freaking much, BASK IN AKAKIOGA'S BEAUTY :D <3

If you haven't followed/checked out Akakioga's work before, now is the time to do it! I can't wait to see pics of what she debuts at Katsucon this weekend!
