Shutting One Door, Keeping others Open

UPDATED ON 8/20/21: Facebook, Patreon and Blog IG pages have been shutdown/discontinued As the COVID pandemic rages on and cons are even shutting down into 2021, it got me thinking on a drive home one night about how I'd feel with even coming back to blogging. When cons eventually do come back at some point. Truth be told, many of the posts and content I shared here could be transferred over to more discussions via my podcast CosplayBytes. I've been blogging my love for games, cons and cosplay for 7 years now and maybe it's time to say goodbye for now? My podcast has gotten me some incredible opportunities as a member of Press for conventions, and the rapid love I've had for streaming is also taking up a lot of time now. On top of multiple personal things on my end, I don't think I have the energy to keep this up even post COVID you know? The very first cosplay centered post I wrote was on Jessica Nigri's Deadpool, and since then it's spawned over 800 posts

Cosplay Feature: Nemesis Cos' Byleth!

With both Fire Emblem Three Houses seeing its DLC release plus Byleth's inclusion in Smash Bros Ultimate, it felt like the perfect opportunity to share a cosplay from said game. Why not the professor himself? Nemesis Cos here has done a fantastic job doing the female variant of the character in the time-skip portion of the game. I myself don't know a whole lot about the game and its story but I do know that the change in hair color signifies the time change XD. Starting off with that, the wig here is of a very mint green shade and has long ends on either side. A white collar decorates the neck with a large clasp covering her chest. Most of the cosplay is done in a leather like material, the shade of it looks to be done in black. Pink strands hang down from the clasp I mentioned earlier.

The main chest portion has some patterning traveling down towards an opening that you can see in the left photo. Nemesis has coverings for her arms which are done in a dark grey coloring. Here they most resemble armored gauntlets. Long drapes of fabric also hang down from the shoulders. Across the exposed portion in this area is a grey strap which then connects to what looks like a dagger in a blue sheath. A black skirt looks to make up the start of the lower area to the cosplay.

The pictures of the cosplay I found don't really give off a good full view of the cosplay so there's only a small view of what look to be fishnets for the legs. Prop wise, Nemesis is seen wielding Byleth's Sword of the Creator. Design wise, it's fairly simple with a bone like blade as well as coloring. The armguard has lots of points with the center piece having what looks to be a red stone in the middle. Some of the shots also show post editing done to make the sword glow just like in the game!
