Cosplay Feature: Jechts' Genderbend Zarya!

Overwatch is still going strong in its popularity with the Halloween event kicking into high gear. New skins, co-op arena matches and a new area, all that good stuff. Cosplayers are flocking to the skins left and right gender-bending or not. One character that got love with her release/introduction was Zarya. Portrayed as an incredibly buff Russian woman, it helped with breaking the typical female character gaming models that most of us are all too familiar with. Cosplayer Jechts saw this as an opportunity to create a male version of the character and it's quite an impressive feat. Jechts' Zarya is made up of a shirt piece and pants that are strapped/covered with armor platings that are given a rusty/weathered look!

The armor itself is colored in blue with red highlights around the border and the buttons. There's various pieces viewable from the side including what looks to be like engine parts. Near the top of the chest piece is a collar heavily reinforced and colored gray. Jechts' gloves are somewhat small and have wrists bands that are closely positioned near them to overall give that gauntlet look. Jechts hair is a short cut colored pink much like Zarya's character model.

Perhaps one of the more impressive parts of the cosplay as a whole is the giant gun that's seen wielded in the photos. It seems that Jecths is able to hold it with ease so the material makeup must be of a reasonable type. Plus, his physicality is similar to Zarya so that could also be a part in being able to lift the gun. The item itself is a mash up of colors like yellow, blue and white. The barrel of the gun is pretty big which make it look more like a laser cannon and less like a machine gun. Again my knowledge of Overwatch is fairly limited so I could be wrong on the weapon's classification. The photos look to be in a city like area probably during a convention. It's somewhat fitting of the character though so it works out lovely! The gun has 2 handles near the top for easy handling/maneuverability. Check out the photos below! :D

Please check out Jechts' FB page when you get the chance. The guy makes some stellar cosplays, plus looks the part on some of them which adds authenticity overall to the outfit!
