Cosplay Feature: Shir0gami's Meta Knight!

Photo by RandomBystanderHere As someone who both is a huge fan of Meta Knight as a character in addition to having cosplayed as him years ago, I am ALWAYS gonna shout about any other takes on the famed swordsman. Shir0gami is one such person and created an amazing gijinka of him for this past MAGFest (yep, still on that event!). It's funny how for Shiro, Kirby Air Ride was her first exposure to the character as noted in one of her pinned posts on Instagram. Starting off the cosplay, you have Meta Knight's imposing mask which is the form taken for this cosplay. Shiro has a face mask done perfectly for MK in both the design and grey coloring. The visor slit gives her the ability to see which hopefully she was while in movement. Man, it's hard for me to not compare it to mine years ago and how what I made is vastly inferior to this XD. Cosplay Feature: Gemgem Cosplay's Sith Lord!


A few years back, cosplayer Gemgem made an original Sith cosplay for a convention back where she lived in Australia. With her recent life changes and move to the US, Gem decided to revisit that same cosplay and upgrade it to an even more badass version with all the skills she picked up. As a result Gem looks incredibly beautiful and deadly as a Sith lord from Star Wars. The photos you guys will see depict her as a wielder of 2 lightsabers (because why not) and covered in a variety of black clothing pieces. The base piece looks to be a single leotard like black piece with a red sash seductively wrapped around her waist. Gem's arms are also fully covered with inserts for her hands. There are also shoulder pieces which I'll get to later and a long style wig!

The shoulder pieces are decorated with the traditional Sith insignia and painted in a dark shade of red. Black can be seen near the top of the emblem which gives off a pretty rad shading effect. Gem's wig is long on both ends and converts from black to grey as it travels down. Her makeup is beyond stellar with covering nearly her whole body in gray paint. The symbols running down her eyes add in that creepy vibe, she's definitely a sith lord i do not want to cross paths with.

There's also an opening on her chest and dotted lines can be seen here as another part of Gem's extensive makeup. I will not deny that there's some sexiness to the cosplay and I imagine that's what Gem was going for. Regardless, I truly love the cosplay and especially loved getting to see BTS progress on it (we're buddies <3). Oh and the setting of the photos is pretty rad for the character. While it is an open green field, the editing makes it look like a swampy/dark area. Perfect for Gem to lie in wait for unsuspecting prey/Jedi. I hope you enjoy these pics guys!
