Shutting One Door, Keeping others Open

UPDATED ON 8/20/21: Facebook, Patreon and Blog IG pages have been shutdown/discontinued As the COVID pandemic rages on and cons are even shutting down into 2021, it got me thinking on a drive home one night about how I'd feel with even coming back to blogging. When cons eventually do come back at some point. Truth be told, many of the posts and content I shared here could be transferred over to more discussions via my podcast CosplayBytes. I've been blogging my love for games, cons and cosplay for 7 years now and maybe it's time to say goodbye for now? My podcast has gotten me some incredible opportunities as a member of Press for conventions, and the rapid love I've had for streaming is also taking up a lot of time now. On top of multiple personal things on my end, I don't think I have the energy to keep this up even post COVID you know? The very first cosplay centered post I wrote was on Jessica Nigri's Deadpool, and since then it's spawned over 800 posts

Cosplay Feature: Pasha Cosplay's Deathguard!

Pasha Cosplay is someone I've been recommended to share constantly so I'm happy to finally have an intense and gorgeous cosplay of hers to write about. Like many others at the time, she got hooked into creating an outfit from Zach Fischer's Project Ebon Blade. Pasha went ahead to create one of the many variations to a Deathguard. The classic female armor format is present here with a breastplate and an exposed midriff. The coloring and spikes are really intense and stand out in all of the photos I have for you guys. The armor also has the classic fur trim which I imagine must help in the comfort department. The shoulders have a skull embedded on the center side and is shielded by what looks to be frontal parts to them. There's also rune inscriptions on them to pay homage to the Death Knights. The blue is super bright and more like the normal/classic shade.

The shoulders look to be part of a neck piece and my guess is that Pasha either puts the whole section over her head or some velcro is involved in attaching. The center skull idea is repeated in several areas such as the breastplate and belt area. Pasha is rocking twin gauntlets which get beefier in size as you get to the cuff end. Big grey hip armors can be seen attached at the belt. Pasha also has garters to help hold up her boots and leg armor.

These themselves are an entirely different beast in its construction. Blue takes center stage here in an X pattern with skulls resting just above them. These skulls are decorated with a helmet of sorts with long horns extending upwards. Much like other belt areas for Ebon Blade, you better believe chains are involved and dangling off! A red tattered piece of fabric can be seen covering up that area as well.

The shoulders have a giant spike extending upward in an impressive curve/shape. Pasha continues to wow me with this cosplay with even more elements that bring it all together. The prop weapon is a medium one handed blade with slight bumps on its blade. Coloring here is mainly grey with some blue ice added near the hilt. The handle is covered in red and Pasha looks to be wielding it with much ease. One shot shows off the red cape that decorates her backside. This is huge in size and also full of tatters and holes towards the end, like a Death Knight would have it right? To top it off, she has a beautiful long wig that's shaded in both ice blue and white. More blue can be seen towards the ends and it just works!

Lastly, the photos are something else. Some are convention shots and others involve a whole lot of ice and snow. I don't know if this was edited in post or if they actually found a location like the photo above these paragraphs. Cause HOLY SMOKES THESE ARE EPIC! Seriously check them out!
