Struck First gives you a first look at a cosplay just as it's been debuted/had its first photoshoot. Cosplayers have been kind enough to let me have a first crack at analyzing the cosplay by providing me with brand new pictures.
When it comes to Kingdom Hearts cosplays, you know for sure I do my best to feature and properly fangirl over them! Enter Vamplette--who's one of Momokun Cosplay's best friends--and her amazing Aqua from Birth by Sleep! Yea I pretty much squealed in delight over this cosplay. Worn at Fanime several weeks ago, Colette did a fantastic job at bringing the magic based Keyblade master to life. The cosplay itself consists of a corset like piece that starts just below the chest. Wrapped around her chest are two pieces of pink fabric in a cross like fashion. At the center of this is a small pendant in silver. I have to wonder how Aqua manages to fight in this outfit since several pieces dangle off her body. For instance, there's the arm sleeves which were done with frilly like white fabric. The other being her skirt going down in both sides with a clear opening in the middle. Here we got black spandex like shorts! The skirt is held up with a white sash on Vamplette's waist.

With the skirt, I absolutely love how the color goes the gradient route as you get to the bottom. The dark blue shade slowly transforms into a lighter shade and eventually ending in white. Super long knee high socks cover Colette's legs and the shoes have to be one of my favorite parts of the cosplay. Done in silver, I imagine Worbla is the base material with it being placed on top of normal shoes. The design with the spikes protruding out from the top is interesting and no doubt crazy. That's what you get when Tetsuya Nomura is behind overall design!
Leather gloves can be seen here also. Vamplette's wig is a short cut in a bright blue shad. This is without a doubt perfect for Aqua! I'm also happy she was able to have the keyblade with her for Fanime. I am unsure if this was made by hand or if it was purchased somewhere. I'm willing to bet the latter just based on the polish and overall size of the prop. Vamplette nails the posing for Aqua showing so much grace and motion with her arms. The smile on her face truthfully warms my heart in that I can tell she had a blast wearing her. Not to mention going the bikini route at a later time for ColossalCon! The photos I have do a fantastic job showing off the cosplay as a whole. I almost forgot the armor piece on one of her arm sleeves! Worbla/Foam make up this piece which is colored in Aqua's scheme of blue and white. Mainly used to transform into the Armored version that gained popularity when the secret ending came out so many years ago for Birth by Sleep! Enjoy the pics guys!
