Cosplay Feature: RiderCGA's King Daredevil!

Photo by Chazzy Baragiola The combination of being snowed in from the blizzard this past week PLUS being hooked hard into Cyberpunk 2077 made this post about a day late. Apologies for the delay but let's get started! I came across RiderCGA's awesome Daredevil during my collection of MAGFest pics so this is probably the last one for that specific convention. As you'll see from the images I found, Rider has a really awesome look/take on the Man Without Fear. Further research indicates that this is known as King Daredevil and is the title Matt Murdock took during a run back in 2022! Starting from the top, you can see a lot of red and black went into this look for the character. The top includes a red hood that hides just about the top of the mask the character is well known for. Small peek at the horns too!

Cosplay Feature: SayaKat Cosplay's Serena!

This is a cosplay I saw making waves during PAX East a few weeks ago and man oh man is this something I NEED to gush over. SayaKat Cosplay is someone brand new for me to share literally because of this outfit. Alongside PlexiCosplay, they portrayed Serena and Bunny respectively from The First Descendant. I'm not entirely too familiar with the game itself (outside of some friends playing off stream), but man is this whole cosplay intense on multiple levels. You have for starters a long top piece that transforms into a tabard like piece going down the middle as you get towards the bottom. Brown pants make up the bottom portion. There's also some small emblems added into the tabard. Also I forgot to mention the lace like piece that makes up the neck coverage for the cosplay that Saya has. I wanted to get those pieces in first because it's the rest of it that stunned me and pretty much everyone else once photos were starting to surface.

According on SayaKat's posts from Instagram, this was a huge team effort. The armor pieces seen on the shoulders, arms and legs/boots were modeled by BeardlessProps as was the actual weapon prop. Once those were rendered out, HDCFabircation managed the 3D Printing and finishing. Lastly, the wings themselves protruding from Saya's back were laser cut & partially assembled by PlexiCosplay. All the sewing and engineering for the wings were done by Saya herself. The photos themselves have an incredible amount of editing in to really highlight the wings lighting up (I imagine they do in-game) along with electrical interference surrounding Saya. Her armor has various lines segmenting parts out with the arms having a long black sleeve act as a base to place the pieces on top. This is pretty much repeated for the leg armor on top of the pants.

I try my best to estimate how parts of the cosplay are made in every feature but I confess, I have no idea what engineering wizardry SayaKat used for the wings. The fact that they can retract & extend on a whim is absolutely insane. I should have worked up the courage to ask her and Plexi for a mini interview at PAX for the podcast. That's something I NEED to do more of going forward, just have to get over my shyness you know? Anyways, back to the cosplay, you have other armor pieces attached to Saya's hips. I'm also really curious if the wings were somewhat heavy to have being worn constantly! Also the blonde wig is just perfectly styled & placed! Be sure to marvel at the other shots I have down below!
