Cosplay Feature: Seviria Cosplay's Suicune!

Photo by Saffels Photography So when I first saw shots of Seviria Cosplay's take on Suicune, it was pretty much an automatic YES for me to write up about it at some point. Despite the searching I went through on Instagram, I wasn't able to get a ton of shots to share with you guys. That being said, the two I did fine give off a wonderful look at the cosplay as a whole. For some backstory, Seviria took on a design done by artist Villiamboom who drew up the legendary dog Pokemon as a humanoid. In her words, Sev raced to finish this in time for Anime Expo this past summer. Suffice to say, the end result is truly amazing. Suicune happens to be my favorite out of the trio of dogs so it's not a huge surprise that I resonated so much with this cosplay. Starting off at the top, you have the iconic headpiece that's a defining characteristic for Suicune being front and center. My best guess is that insulation foam or some other type of it was used in its construction. Fully color...

Cosplay Feature: Stefania Sassano's Rogue!

If you were to ask me to point you in direction of someone who was really knowledgeable & passionate about everyone's favorite group of Mutants, I'd have an individual all lined up for you. Meet Stefania Sassano, a comic book lover in addition to gaming. Course with the title & first image up above, I'm showing off their undying love for Rogue. So of course I had to start with the classic look for the character though she has done various iterations of the character, from various comic book event looks to the X-Men Evolution cartoon look of the 2000's. For the classic yellow/green look, Stefania has the full bodysuit on display with the different colors being sectioned off. The former color being mostly present down the middle with green surrounding it on both sides. The suit has some cel-shading details added in alongside some black markings up by the top and of course the X symbol.

In addition to the suit, Stefania is rocking a brown leather jacket that has a crop top shape to it. Sure I've seen this version of Rogue everywhere online in comic imagery but seeing it on her really makes me appreciate how much that brown works with the lighter colors of the cosplay. The jacket also has some pocket compartments up a little higher on it. Yellow gloves can be seen for her hands and they look to be on the shorter side. Then there's a loose brown belt wrapped around Stefania's waist with another X logo placed in the middle like a buckle.

In matching fashion, yellow boots make up the footwear. These looks to give her a lot of room up at the top while it smooths out to heels towards the bottom. In terms of how they were made, it can really go both ways. Stefania either modified an existing pair of heels/boots or they were purchased. Whichever the case is, they're absolutely perfect. Another key part of how this cosplay just works so well for me is the wig. Rogue always has a section of her hair that's white against surrounding brown. In looking through Stefania's portfolio of cosplays, I can tell you she has more than one wig for Rogue since other variants of the character have different styled hairdos. This is full of curls and I love how much fun she has in playing with the wig in some of the poses.

Speaking of which, the poses and backgrounds of the shots I picked out for this Feature are a big reason why I wanted to finally share Stefania's Rogue. These were taken at the very first Uncanny Expo which if you can guess by the name, is a convention geared towards celebrating all things X-Men. The pictures themselves showcase Stefania in a variety of stances leaning up against what looks to be a mansion of sorts which is pretty perfect for this convention's location. Some of the shots I have do a fantastic job at highlighting the overall cosplay with the lighting work. See for yourself down below!

Getting to view Stefania's passion for both the X-Men on top of the other comic characters she cosplays from always gets me excited since I feel not many others in the cosplay are as into comic books as much as myself. If you want to go follow Stefania's work, I highly recommend you do so by going to the link below. She's a definite guest I want to have on my podcast at some point to nerd out with. Even though for me, I'm not as into the X-Men like her.
