Cosplay Feature: Malicious Cosplay's Sailor Mega Man!

Photo by NeoAlf By the time you're reading this, Katsucon will have officially kicked off in the same location as MAGFest. And as I'm typing this up on a Weds, cosplayers have already started making the trek down to the location. "Day Zero" kicks off tomorrow in some instances for creators. With that being said, the cosplay work from MAG is still present in these write-ups! The festival itself always takes on a central theme to the event and it's easily spotted with how the logo is designed. This year, MAGFest took inspiration from the classic Mega Man games using the font/design from Mega Man X. Cosplayer Malicious Cosplay really took that theme to heart by cosplaying as the famous robot but putting a Sailor Scout outfit on him and giving a pretty stellar transformation in the process!

Cosplay Feature: Jess Blaze Cosplay's Lady Luck Rikku!

If there's one thing I can count on Jess Blaze to do, is cosplaying all the Final Fantasy waifus your heart desires. She's certainly no stranger to Rikku's look from FF X-2 but I really loved this additional costume change done for the character. Those not familiar with X-2's gameplay, it involves the traditional job system from previous entries but adds in the fun mechanic of changing clothes. Dress-spheres in this case! One such job is the Lady Luck sphere which deals with a lot of abilities based on the classic Gambler job. I'm mostly assuming because it's been both years since I replayed X-2 and I don't even think I used this class in particular for any of the three main characters. With all that intro out of the way, let's get to the cosplay itself! Upon looking at the pictures, Jess mentions in one of the captions that the cosplay itself is no longer in her possession. This is due to how uncomfortable it was to wear at the convention she debuted it at.
Paine cosplayed by Kamcosplay
Upon looking at the cosplay after the fact, I can understand that reasoning. Jess starts it off with utilizing the same wig from her classic Rikku cosplay. The base being from the ever so helpful Arda Wigs! Both the arm bands and closed gloves are orange in color with a rad gradient change on both of them towards the ends. The full body piece looks to be singular in nature and covers Jess from top to bottom. There's of course several openings as you travel down the dress. Some of these have a fishnet layering on top. Black trim outlines each edge to the suit and Jess has the Club suite/symbol set in the middle of her chest.

Alongside the waist you have another line of white with black trims on its edge as well. With how it's shaped, I can definitely see that it must have been tricky to walk in this cosplay for a full day. Not to mention the footwear. Jess is rocking super cute boots that were colored/dyed the same orange gradient seen on her arms. The fishnets I mentioned earlier are part of what look like garters that travel fully down the legs.

Prop wise, Jess is utilizing giant casino playing cards which were designed/made by Kamcosplay! Each one has the classic suite adorned with symbols on the corners. My only guess is that they're native to the Spira language XD. In some of the shots Jess states that she had a lot of "trust the process" moments when it came to creating the cosplay and I am overjoyed at knowing she had a blast making this!
