Shutting One Door, Keeping others Open

UPDATED ON 8/20/21: Facebook, Patreon and Blog IG pages have been shutdown/discontinued As the COVID pandemic rages on and cons are even shutting down into 2021, it got me thinking on a drive home one night about how I'd feel with even coming back to blogging. When cons eventually do come back at some point. Truth be told, many of the posts and content I shared here could be transferred over to more discussions via my podcast CosplayBytes. I've been blogging my love for games, cons and cosplay for 7 years now and maybe it's time to say goodbye for now? My podcast has gotten me some incredible opportunities as a member of Press for conventions, and the rapid love I've had for streaming is also taking up a lot of time now. On top of multiple personal things on my end, I don't think I have the energy to keep this up even post COVID you know? The very first cosplay centered post I wrote was on Jessica Nigri's Deadpool, and since then it's spawned over 800 posts

Cosplay Showcase: Chamomiletay's Shadow Sae

Cosplays that just don't cover the main protagonists of a series/franchises is something I appreciate from time to time in my overall love I have for the hobby. Sometimes, the secondary villains or NPC's get left out in favor of the big bads or characters that have left a huge impression on a person. While Sae Nijima from Persona 5 is a central supporting character to the story, not many have cosplayed as her Shadow which you face in her dazzling Palace. Chamomiletay has you covered for today as her Shadow Sae is absolutely gorgeous. As a whole, the cosplay is relatively simple in the design. Full on black from the main cloak, to the hat and her gloves. There's also fishnet stockings for her legs as well! On certain parts, you can see playing cards inserted into the outfit since that's Sae's whole gimmick/element that she runs with. Given that her Palace manifests as a casino, it makes sense right?

The hat has that stylish flat top design that adventurers wear like Indiana Jones or even Carmen Sandiego. The cards are placed within a few yellow flowers that adorn said hat. There's also a few cheekily placed in one of her stockings down below. The gloves look to have been done with a silk like fabric so I'm betting that they're soft to touch! A lone purple strand is seen along Chamomiletay's waist which is probably used to tie something together. The wig has got to be one of my favorite parts to the cosplay. Styled up to drop on one side, it's exploding with silver hair and adds so much to the full cosplay!

The main cloak also looks to have one leg exposed while covering the other. Oh and there's also a spiked collar around the neck because OF COURSE <3. The photos are something else too! My gut is actually telling me these were taken at Katsucon earlier this year based on how some of the backgrounds look. The purple color effects added in just work for the character and Chamomiletay absolutely brings it in the posing department :D. See for yourself down below! Also, I love her makeup for Sae too!
