Shutting One Door, Keeping others Open

UPDATED ON 8/20/21: Facebook, Patreon and Blog IG pages have been shutdown/discontinued As the COVID pandemic rages on and cons are even shutting down into 2021, it got me thinking on a drive home one night about how I'd feel with even coming back to blogging. When cons eventually do come back at some point. Truth be told, many of the posts and content I shared here could be transferred over to more discussions via my podcast CosplayBytes. I've been blogging my love for games, cons and cosplay for 7 years now and maybe it's time to say goodbye for now? My podcast has gotten me some incredible opportunities as a member of Press for conventions, and the rapid love I've had for streaming is also taking up a lot of time now. On top of multiple personal things on my end, I don't think I have the energy to keep this up even post COVID you know? The very first cosplay centered post I wrote was on Jessica Nigri's Deadpool, and since then it's spawned over 800 posts

Cosplay Feature: Yaya Han's Midnight!

Lots of cosplayers these days are running on that My Hero Academia hype train and understandably so. Many of the characters have become fan favorites as well as being paired up in many ships. When she's not going girl crazy over FREE!, Yaya Han also hopped on and decided to cosplay as the dominatrix-esque pro hero Midnight! For Yaya, she explains off the bat that this was a relatively quick build for her. Understandably so, the cosplay is very comfy looking and works wonderful with Yaya's dynamite figure. For starters you have a white base of sorts which looks to be in a thicker material. From the collar then traveling down at the middle is a black strip adorned with red gems. This travels all the way through her black corset. Corsets are DEFINITELY something Yaya knows how to wear and she looks stunning in every cosplay that includes them. Alongside her waist is a red belt with gold squares and what looks to be an insignia as the buckle.

For her legs, Yaya is wearing white leggings that look to have purple attached to them as you get to her thighs. There's also black straps which give that garter-belt look. These straps look to be connected from the start of the purple and then traveling up just to the belt. Extremely high heel boots finish off the cosplay with a whole lotta of lacing up. The wrist guards look to be handcuffs separated in two. Weapon wise, Yaya is wielding a little red whip obviously used to punish bad guys....or her students.

Midnight's Quirk in the show involves letting off an aroma from her skin which dazes the opponent and making them vulnerable.  The cosplay as a whole looks to be skin tight at first glance which is definitely present in the show. The red mask Yaya is wearing is superbly clean and looks to have been done in latex. Or some other sort of molding. The wig is also interesting with its jet black shade but also the random strands of spikes/hair that are sticking outwards. Also Yaya's eyes and eyebrows are ON POINT <3. Lots of hairspray must have been used to make the strands stick and stay like that!

Of course Yaya is a wonder with posing and she really captures Midnight's personality and vibe. All the shots are stellar and as usual she's done a marvelous job <3. Check these pics out!

At this point, I don't know why you're not following Yaya Han if that is the case. She's a MUST FOLLOW if you enjoy cosplay to any degree! :)
