Cosplay Feature: Kels Cosplay's Rumi!

One of the biggest crazes to have happened last year was the arrival of K-Pop Demon Hunters on Netflix over the summer. Between the insane visuals and catchy songs, it's no surprise that the characters themselves latched onto so many creators. Of course this led to a cosplay explosion after the film's release which continues on to MAGFest. I figured at some point I'd want to share a Demon Hunters cosplay here soon and Kels Cosplay came in with a fantastic look at Rumi, the band's leader & prime vocalist. Specifically you have the outfit worn during the last act of the film. Kels also looks to have done a slight variation featuring some makeup but I'll get to that later on in the writeup. The first version of the look includes a bedazzled black crop jacket with various golden stripes and accents throughout. You also get to see various gold chains traveling down the jacket.

One of Rumi's shoulders is decked out with a small gold pauldron/shoulder piece as well. Some sort of design is etched in with a layered trim around its edges. Truthfully kinda reminds me of the look The Beatles had in their Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heartclub Band era. Wonder if that's what the creators of the movie were going for with that look? Underneath the jacket is a white crop top that has brooch like pieces up near the neck and one not far down. The latter brooch looks like it's how the jacket buttons up. A gold belt takes up the waist on top of white short shorts. Then the leg wear includes high white platform boots!

I also can't forget about Kels' amazing lavender wig too! Slicked back with a very long braided ponytail! Some shots give off looks on the earrings too! Just want to also clarify that the full outfit shots I have are from last year's RI Comic Con whereas the bunny like suit shots are from MAGFest! So speaking of, the second version trades in the jacket for a one piece white suit with fishnets covering the leg areas. White heels make up the footwear. I mentioned the makeup variation in the beginning and that's seen towards her forehead with purple markings traveling down. Here it indicates the moment where Rumi comes clean about her dual human/demon hybrid.

You also have gold making a repeat appearance in both the belt around her waist plus the single gold chain attached that's looped upwards. The shots I found for this look give off a great look at just how long the braid travels as part of Kels wig. The wrists also have white cuffs added in too! I love the color seen in these shots too. Not sure if David added those in or if it was part of the area at night. You can absolutely tell Kels has a blast wearing this cosplay and I imagine it's comfortable in many aspects.
