Shutting One Door, Keeping others Open

UPDATED ON 8/20/21: Facebook, Patreon and Blog IG pages have been shutdown/discontinued As the COVID pandemic rages on and cons are even shutting down into 2021, it got me thinking on a drive home one night about how I'd feel with even coming back to blogging. When cons eventually do come back at some point. Truth be told, many of the posts and content I shared here could be transferred over to more discussions via my podcast CosplayBytes. I've been blogging my love for games, cons and cosplay for 7 years now and maybe it's time to say goodbye for now? My podcast has gotten me some incredible opportunities as a member of Press for conventions, and the rapid love I've had for streaming is also taking up a lot of time now. On top of multiple personal things on my end, I don't think I have the energy to keep this up even post COVID you know? The very first cosplay centered post I wrote was on Jessica Nigri's Deadpool, and since then it's spawned over 800 posts

STRUCK FIRST: Holly Wolf as Princess Zelda!

Struck First gives you a first look at a cosplay just as it's been debuted/had its first photoshoot. Cosplayers have been kind enough to let me have a first crack at analyzing the cosplay by providing me with brand new pictures.

It's definitely no secret that cosplayer Holly Wolf is a die hard Legend of Zelda fan. Her reaction to Breath of the Wild's sequel announcement was just pure excitement and surprise. It's thus no surprise at all that Holly had the desire to cosplay Zelda's new look for the upcoming entry. What's even better is that the resulting photos mimic the tone set in the trailer. Dark and moody as she wanders around a castle like structure. Holly has cosplayed this version of Zelda in several other instances so it looks like some parts were re-used here. Mainly with the main blue top piece. From the neck down you have a white section before hitting the gold trim and blue area. Some parts of the Hyrule insignia can be seen here. The shots as I mentioned before are mostly dark so it can be hard to make out the details.

Around her torso you get even more of a gold and white trim before hitting a brown corset like wrap. After that you have what looks to be plain black pants to make up the rest of the cosplay. Holly's hands are set up with brown gloves alongside a torch being held in some of the shots. Others show her utilizing the Sheikah slate as she studies whatever area she's in. What's new with this sequel look reside in the brown cape plus Zelda's hairstyle. For starters, the cape is tied up around Holly's neck and has some incredible patterning on the outside and inside of it. Her shoulders are perfectly covered by it and it looks to flow down to about the halfway point of her back.

For the hair, Holly is rocking a much shorter cut with a braided portion wrapped up sort of like a crown. Length wise, the wig looks to end just above the shoulders instead of being long like in the first game. The photos truly set the mood and I can tell by the end, Holly was ecstatic about the end results. I'm telling you guys these shots are WALLPAPER WORTHY <3 check them out for yourself!
