Cosplay Feature: Seviria Cosplay's Suicune!

Photo by Saffels Photography So when I first saw shots of Seviria Cosplay's take on Suicune, it was pretty much an automatic YES for me to write up about it at some point. Despite the searching I went through on Instagram, I wasn't able to get a ton of shots to share with you guys. That being said, the two I did fine give off a wonderful look at the cosplay as a whole. For some backstory, Seviria took on a design done by artist Villiamboom who drew up the legendary dog Pokemon as a humanoid. In her words, Sev raced to finish this in time for Anime Expo this past summer. Suffice to say, the end result is truly amazing. Suicune happens to be my favorite out of the trio of dogs so it's not a huge surprise that I resonated so much with this cosplay. Starting off at the top, you have the iconic headpiece that's a defining characteristic for Suicune being front and center. My best guess is that insulation foam or some other type of it was used in its construction. Fully color...

Cosplay Feature: Shiro Cos as Melinoe!

So I knew I was gonna get insanely addicted to Hades 2 but I wasn't expecting to essentially clear it all out a little over a month after it released. Having done so much in the first game it didn't take long for me to get back into the rouge-lite groove and do run after run to progress its story. So naturally that led to me wanting to find cosplayers that portrayed the main antagonist Melinoe. Shiro Cos was someone I came across early on as I was searching throughout Instagram with the game's hashtag attached and man does this look freaking awesome. To kick things off, the 3D files for some of the pieces like her weaponry in ADDITION to the killer shoot location were provided by cosplay collective The Dangerous Ladies! Shiro has a short bob cut blonde wig with a small leaf crown placed on top. That crown also has a silver moon symbol placed directly in the middle of it. This to help signify Melinoe's placement as one of the Silver Sisters. You'll notice that the leaf crown repeats the same iconography worn by Zagreus and other members of the Hades household from the first game.

The overall cosplay consists of an orange dress with several bits and pieces of armor and other clothing placed on top. Shiro has a large collar piece that's silver & black in its color scheme. That's also replicated in places like the main belt and even the small arm bands that are visible. What's also repeated is the moon symbol. Both of Shiro's arms are distinctly different. One of which has a larger arm band then a bracer. The other is covered in a full green sleeve to represent Melinoe's skeletal see through arm in the game. Weapon wise, we have the Twin Sister Blades wielded so perfectly. One of which being an enlarged dagger and the other a crescent moon blade.

Directly under her belt you have several shapes moving downward in a tabard like fashion. These shapes do appear (to me at least) to reference the different phases of the moon. The pictures I managed to find of the full cosplay don't give off a great full view of the leg wear but they're similar to the arms. One looks fairly bare with a couple of bands wrapped around and the other is full coated with moon shapes placed on top of the base covering. Shiro is also rocking different contacts to mimic Melinoe's eyes. I really do love both the pose work Shiro utilizes in the shots plus the added smoke and coloring edits do so much to bring this character to life. I don't know the specifics of how many pieces were 3D-printed so I feel like resin was used in the construction material wise?

In any case, I absolutely LOVE all of these photos and Shiro did a phenomenal job at cosplaying the Princess of the Underworld. If you haven't yet, please go check out more of Shiro's work by following the Instagram link down below! :)
