Cosplay Feature: Wumbo's Monoco!

Photo by David Ngo Happy February! I hope you had an amazing start to your new year and that you're excited to learn about the amazing cosplays that are out there for 2026. The cosplay community usually dubs the one-two punch of MAGFest & Katsucon as the kickoff for the convention season. I spent the last month or so gathering cosplays that as of today's date, all stem from the former! I also am insanely excited that many of these I'm about to share are first time write-ups for the creators themselves. Today, you get a look at Wumbo's masterful recreation of known feet lover Monoco from 2025's Game of the Year, Expedition 33! In looking at some of the photo posts on her instagram, she made all of this by herself so I don't have to worry about adding in extra creators who may have assisted with design files etc. Quick backstory, Monoco is the last party member you add to your team who's a longtime friend of Verso and gained a grasp on the English language...

Cosplay Feature: 16bitSami's Dancing Scyther!

Pokemon gijinkas never fail to impress me and 16bitSami's take on Scyther as a Scimitar Dancer immediately caught my eye in wanting to write about it. Done for Otakon earlier in the year, Sami states that she wanted to emulate the "dancer style vibes" she had for a previous take on Flareon. Not only that, but there are other elements taken from a Cowslip designed Scyther cosplay she did nearly 10 years ago :O. So if you want to let learn more about this gorgeous cosplay, let's dive in! Sami has a fantastic long green wig that has a sort of forest vibe with its shade. I'm not entirely sure if the armor piece directly on top of it is a leaf design of sorts but Sami has that rocking as additional headgear. Some of the pictures I have will also give a glimpse to a green hood that travels down her back with a gold trim on the edge. I really love the blend of clothing and armor that Sami utilized for this cosplay. When you get down to the main top piece, you have long sleeves covering her full arms. It's maintained via a knot on her collarbone and has that sheer/see-through look to it.

Which then leads into an insane breastplate that's full blown green even when you get into the swirl patterns that Sami added onto it. Its design also extends out a bunch when you compare it to other breastplates done by other cosplayers. I feel though that this is perfect considering Scyther is very much a winged Bug type Pokemon. What you'll also see in some of the later shots is that the hood I mentioned earlier seems to have more sheer green fabric that can extend outward if Sami so chooses to utilize her hands to show them off. Armguards can be seen towards the upper half of her sleeves and even have some gold inserts added into them.

The lower portion of the cosplay has a waistband of armor with a tabard like piece coming down from the middle. There's a whole lot of fabric from the back that you can see which also adds some layers. The layered look has different shades of green added to them. Then when it comes to the leg gear, Sami is rocking some bangle like leg armor which eventually lead into open-ended green heels.

Weapon wise as the cosplay concept mentions, Sami has twin scimitar blades that 100% mimic Scyther's wings. You have a green handle and trim line surrounding the blade. The grey areas take up the inside of the blade as well. Sami also does a fantastic job with posing. Whether it's showing off the full scope of the cosplay with dancer like moves or just lounging around, she looks incredibly beautiful. Plus the way some of the lighting hits both indoors and outdoors is just *chef's kiss*. Check out these other photos down below!

I HIGHLY recommend you guys check out Sami's cosplay work through the link down below. You will not be disappointed. Need to share more of her work myself on here :)
