Cosplay Feature: MissBriSolo's Starfire!

So I've actually been a HUGE fan of Bri's work for a really long time. Not just for her cosplay and obvious insane beauty but her other passion in life. That being fitness and sharing some of her gym routines. She's also been a big podcast dream guest for me on my show so it's surprising to me that I've taken this long to share her work on the blog. At the time of gathering people to share, Bri had mentioned online she was working on a build of Angela from the Spawn comics (though having now been integrated into Marvel Comics). Specifically though the character has just been added to Marvel Rivals' roster and so her design really spoke to Bri. By the time you're reading this, she actually finished the cosplay and shared full shots so I'll be doing a write up on that sometime in Nov or Dec. So what other character of hers do I gush about in the meantime? Uhhhhh.....Starfire? Cause GOOD GOD SHE LOOKS SO GOOD!

Cosplay Feature: Lisa Mancini's Magik!

The Marvel Rivals cosplays keep on coming with various iterations of Magik done by cosplayer Lisa Mancini. Specifically, I have three versions that she's done over the last year or two since the cosplay was made & debuted. I myself am not too well-versed to the character so I'm mostly gonna be focusing on the outfit structure and how it's formed around Lisa. For starters, Magik's base costume starts off with a long platinum blonde wig with some wings added on top. Most likely this is done via a headband piece added in. Her main chest piece looks to be a tank top base in black with an armor chest piece layered on top. It does go all the way up to Lisa's neck so I have to wonder if she had any trouble moving her head around while wearing this. Magik has a mixture of long and short sleeved coverings for her arms. There's also different pauldrons on the shoulders. One of which is smoothed out with what I believe is the X-Men symbol on one and the other is covered in spikes. Quick thing I also want to add is that the color scheme for this cosplay is heavy on the black, grey and yellow.
The same cosplay also has a more casual look that Lisa posted photos of recently which gets rid of the chest piece for a little Power Girl-esque chest window 0-0. The one long sleeve has armored pieces layered on top of each other with fabric acting as a base much like how the chest is done. Small spikes can be seen poking outward on the arm band. One hand looks to be covered in a shiny leather like piece whereas the more exposed arm has a simple black glove.

Then you got black booty shorts making up that section with a belt wrapped around her waist. If you compare the both the full cosplay and the more casual look, you'll see that the belt differs. Also, Lisa's legs are covered up differently. The full outfit involves torn tights with some leg bands high up and wrapped around. Full on black boots can be seen which look armored here in this instance. Again, you got spikes up near the top whereas the casual form goes full long goth girl boots for footwear. Also want to quickly add as I'm typing this up, the full outfit involves one black glove on one hand and the other being bare with a wrist band of sorts with spikes acting like a brass knuckle like piece of weaponry.

What's definitely one of the stand out parts of the whole cosplay that you'll see in all the photo variations is the giant sword Magik uses for fighting. I can't tell if this was heavy to carry around or surprisingly light thanks to the material make-up. Whatever the case may be, I'm in awe of it. Black handle to start it off before you get up to the start of the sword. The blade itself is fully yellow with a black pattern that looks to have been cut up and placed on top of the blade? This is another tricky element to figure out as I also don't know if this prop was fully custom made or something purchased from a third party vendor. You also have a singular purple gem towards the bottom of the sword just as it starts. Side note, I LOVE how in shape Lisa looks in the full cosplay. Many of the poses you'll see include her standing with confidence oozing out or ones where she's sitting down in relaxation.

The other outfit done is more taking homage from the classic X-Men costumes with the signature blue and yellow acting as a full base to the cosplay. The only additions you see here are the ears/horns being painted up yellow in addition to her armor alongside the arms. That chest piece I mentioned up at the top is sort of present with it being placed just above Lisa's chest and the pauldrons being a bit different in its design. You can see a circular pattern on one of the shoulders that's done up in black & red. I don't have a full body shot of the footwear but it looks like long yellow boots are present here.

The arm set up is also the same with one being fully covered and the other being sleeveless with a yellow glove being added. This part in particular looks like it's part of the base body suit. I wonder if Lisa made any alterations to it or if this specifically was created for Magik cosplayers in mind. It's not mentioned what materials were used in the cosplay construction but I'd be willing to guess that foam & worbla were used in some capacity. It wouldn't also shock me too much if 3D printing had some play here too.

It may be fall at the time of this post going up but I also wanted to throw in the bikini look Lisa did for Magik. As you can pretty much expect, this involves mostly the wig, horns, sword and a two-piece black bikini for the whole ensemble. The brightness of the yellow in the sword combined with how blue the pool looks really works well and you can see each part of this photoshoot pretty well. I mean, who doesn't love bikini shots right? <3

Lisa's been doing a whole lot of Marvel Rivals cosplays in addition to various other characters lately! If you wanna see more of her work, be sure to check out the link down below :)
