Cosplay Feature: Wumbo's Monoco!

Happy February! I hope you had an amazing start to your new year and that you're excited to learn about the amazing cosplays that are out there for 2026. The cosplay community usually dubs the one-two punch of MAGFest & Katsucon as the kickoff for the convention season. I spent the last month or so gathering cosplays that as of today's date, all stem from the former! I also am insanely excited that many of these I'm about to share are first time write-ups for the creators themselves. Today, you get a look at Wumbo's masterful recreation of known feet lover Monoco from 2025's Game of the Year, Expedition 33! In looking at some of the photo posts on her instagram, she made all of this by herself so I don't have to worry about adding in extra creators who may have assisted with design files etc. Quick backstory, Monoco is the last party member you add to your team who's a longtime friend of Verso and gained a grasp on the English language despite being a Gestral. His fighting style revolves around using enemy moves by collecting....their feet. So you can think of him like a Blue Mage of sorts from your old school Final Fantasy!

Right off the back you have an enormous mask/head piece that has Monica's signature wooden face plate fully surrounded by Yeti like hair. These came from Arda Wigs being a particular kind of wig weft (straight from Wumbo's Insta!). What you'll notice is that the entirety of the cosplay looks to be done with a brown body suit acting as its base. This honestly makes talking about the cosplay a whole lot easier for me cause I didn't want to jump all over the place XD. From her shoulders down to the forearm, you have white fur that soon transitions to a variety of grey/silver armor parts. It seems that both arms are dressed up differently when it comes to the straps too!

The detailing that went into the armor is actual insanity and it makes Wumbo's claim of having suffered through the creation make a whole lot more sense. One arm has brown straps whereas the other has golden bracelets around the bracer. The torso is decorated with a variety of brown plates with white symbols decorated on top. The middle section has a tabard like piece draped downward in brown with a small half circle piece showing off some blue. Directly next to the tabard part you have what looks like twin wooden-esque tusks hanging down as well.

I don't know if the bodysuit is like a full one piece or separate but you can see green fabric draped over as you start getting into the leg territory. Some brown armor can be seen peeking out of the layered wraps before the feet are somewhat exposed and placed on top of what looks like sandals. These are done in white to blend in with the wrappings. Then weapon wise Wumbo constructed the giant staff that Monoco wields with the bell hanging off at the end. The staff itself keeps that wooden theme to it until you get to the bell which is insanely ornate and gorgeous with its white and gold coloring! The bell is secured through ropes being tied and you'll notice that the white portion is painted on. I love how Wumbo mimicked Monoco's mannerisms in the photos I have to share.

There's definitely a wide variety of Expedition 33 but I feel it's mostly centered around the main squad/collection of human characters. And it's either in the traditional uniforms or full blown Baguette skins. Both of which are insanely amazing but I have to admit this is the first full Monoco cosplay I've seen and it was more than enough for me to follow Wumbo's work. You all should do the same by checking out her Instagram down below :).
