Cosplay Feature: Gray Oranges' Rikku!

Photo by David Ngo I won't ever shy away from writing about cosplays of Rikku's look from Final Fantasy X-2 and Gray Orange did a fantastic job portraying her in both the overall cosplay look PLUS the pose work. Of course I'll get to all that in due time but let's start at the top! It's certainly a cosplay worn for several events and I want to say I first saw this in the overall collection of MAGFest photos back in January of this year. I really love how the multiple braid strands are integrated into the blonde wig for starters. I can't tell if they're either part of the wig itself or the blue headband that's wrapped around. In any case, following this is a red scarf wrapped around Irini's neck before you then get to the yellow bikini top. Here, you can also see orange trim lines as part of the piece. Oh, I forgot to mention that the red scarf actually travels all the way down to her legs. These end points then transition to a yellow/orange gradient!

Cosplay Showcase: HelloIAmKate's Kratos!

Today, I have the lovely HelloIAmKate in her fantastic genderbend of Kratos from his latest entry. Lots of leather pieces and fur was used in creating the father figure, not to mention the trusty Leviathan axe as well. I'll get to that later on though, why not start at the top? Kate has a beautiful brown wig that travels down to just about the start of her chest area. She also has Kratos' signature red markings along her arms and face. The top piece of the cosplay consists of a fur wrap with a belt strapped down the middle. Traveling up her shoulder, we get to see a beautifully made armor done in several layers. Kate has different things going on when it comes to her arms/hands. One has several pieces of cloth and straps wrapped around, whereas the other has a leather glove with plating attached.

For the pants area, Kate has a somewhat short skirt done in a light brown leather with an included belt around her waist. Hanging off of the belt are several pouches and what looks to be another weapon/prop of sorts. The belt has some super detailed engravings which absolutely fit the type of character that Kratos is at the point of the game. One side of the skirt has even smaller straps hanging off of it! Lots of the pics I have give a close up look which showcase the leather work and details just beautifully!

The Leviathan Axe is just an impressive prop to view here you guys. Plus, Kate created a way to hold the axe on her back! The wooden handle has some straps including some engraving as well. The latter part is really defined in the axe blade itself. The recreation of the axe is spot on and it doesn't look like it's heavy in weight at all. That's always a plus right? All of Kate's facial expressions are very stoic which again, is perfect for Kratos' personality. Seriously check them out :D
