Cosplay Feature: RiderCGA's King Daredevil!

Photo by Chazzy Baragiola The combination of being snowed in from the blizzard this past week PLUS being hooked hard into Cyberpunk 2077 made this post about a day late. Apologies for the delay but let's get started! I came across RiderCGA's awesome Daredevil during my collection of MAGFest pics so this is probably the last one for that specific convention. As you'll see from the images I found, Rider has a really awesome look/take on the Man Without Fear. Further research indicates that this is known as King Daredevil and is the title Matt Murdock took during a run back in 2022! Starting from the top, you can see a lot of red and black went into this look for the character. The top includes a red hood that hides just about the top of the mask the character is well known for. Small peek at the horns too!

STRUCK FIRST: Oh My Sophii's as Apocalypse Peach!

Struck First gives you a first look at a cosplay just as it's been debuted/had its first photoshoot. Cosplayers have been kind enough to let me have a first crack at analyzing the cosplay by providing me with brand new pictures.

It goes without saying that I've praised Sophii for not just the kind of person she is, but along with how much growth she's done as a cosplayer. Originally my plan was to show off her Rikku cosplay from FFX-2. Since the flow of photos for that cosplay is slow, I decided to switch gears and turn attention to her mind blowing Princess Peach. From the title though, you'll see this isn't your damsel in distress Princess :O. Sophii went to the apocalypse theme and really gave the character a more independent look. She definitely don't need no man for saving this time around! I'm positive that this was an existing design from an artist which is how Sophii got her hands on it. The outfit at its base level seems pretty simple. A black tank top with pink overalls over it. In addition to the pink jeans that cover her full bottom area. Then, the cosplay is topped off with pink combat boots. However, much like yesterday's cosplay post, it's all about the added accessories and details.

The outfit is covered with markings to give that cel-shaded look, a la Borderlands style. I think that art style fits the post-apocalyptic theme so Sophii's Peach feels right at home. Around her waist is a brown belt with a sole pouch to one of her sides. The belt buckle is dark grey and brands the classic Mushroom symbol. That symbol makes a repeat appearance in the center of her torso. I forgot to mention that Sophii has her arms covered in a sleeve from her elbows down to her hands.

Weapon wise, Sophii is equipped with a single Bob-omb which is accurately recreated and small enough to fit in her hand. What's also badass and almost hilariously out of character is her second prop. That being a huge club/bat covered in wires. To give it that Mario look are the giant Stars which top it off on either side. Yes, they are also wrapped in barbed wires too. The stars are beautifully colored various colors, almost to give off the invincible effect that's famous from the franchise. Sophii tops the whole cosplay off with a gorgeous yellow wig and the signature crown cocked to one side. Done in silver with red and blue jewels adorned. Either this was attached to the wig or is placed on a headband conveniently hidden. OH, Sophii is rocking 2 knee pads as well!

I don't know where the heck the photos were taken, but they were edited beautifully to capture that apocalypse feel that this cosplay overall brings. Sophii once again killed it with this cosplay and I hope you all enjoy the photos that's to come! :)
