Shutting One Door, Keeping others Open

UPDATED ON 8/20/21: Facebook, Patreon and Blog IG pages have been shutdown/discontinued As the COVID pandemic rages on and cons are even shutting down into 2021, it got me thinking on a drive home one night about how I'd feel with even coming back to blogging. When cons eventually do come back at some point. Truth be told, many of the posts and content I shared here could be transferred over to more discussions via my podcast CosplayBytes. I've been blogging my love for games, cons and cosplay for 7 years now and maybe it's time to say goodbye for now? My podcast has gotten me some incredible opportunities as a member of Press for conventions, and the rapid love I've had for streaming is also taking up a lot of time now. On top of multiple personal things on my end, I don't think I have the energy to keep this up even post COVID you know? The very first cosplay centered post I wrote was on Jessica Nigri's Deadpool, and since then it's spawned over 800 posts

Cosplay Showcase: JusCosplay's Turalyon!

My Blizzcon coverage continues with Danielle Beaulieu's other half to her Alleria Windrunner! She managed to rope in (with a literal rope I imagine) JusCosplay in creating her lover Turalyon. This was done in a time frame of 3 weeks before the convention. Essentially pulling a Jessica Nigri with making incredibly complex cosplays in the span of a short time frame. I've always been a Paladin guy so JusCosplay looks incredibly badass with the hulking armor surrounding him. Underneath looks to be literal chainmail which no doubt helped the armor become bearable to walk around in. The pieces certainly do look heavy but having seen videos of him doing impressive dance moves, they are in fact light in nature. I imagine EVA foam was heavily used as the base for each piece.

I absolutely love the color scheme used here. Mainly a mix of grey and yellow with some orange in the gem stones. Classic in terms of the standard Paladin color scheme. I also find the brown gloves to be somewhat hilarious due to how they look. Big and goofy which remind me of the old Warcraft 3 cinematics and how they looked. JusCosplay is also rocking a small blonde wig which is styled wonderfully in a circular notion. The facial hair is also stellar and I honestly think it was dyed to match the hair which is amazing.

Paladins always have very angular/rounded designs for their armor and Turalyon is no exception. The chest piece comes together at the middle and slightly sticks outward. I mentioned the orange gems earlier, these are placed in spots you'd expect. Mainly the bracers and legs in addition to the aforementioned chest. The concept art depicts Turalyon having parts of his armor look like they were done out of light constructs. These were replicated by the yellow/white pieces you see on certain spots. Mainly on the shoulders and chest. For such a short amount of time, JusCosplay did a rad job and Danielle helped out tremendously not just in its construction but by being a beautiful Alleria too! The photos do this cosplay justice (see what I did there?)!

JusCosplay recently won a trip to NYCC this year and debuted an impressive gender bend of Pharah from Overwatch. There's also a plethora of other insane builds you'll find on his page! Check him out on his FB page :)
