Cosplay Feature: Kay Bear Cosplay's Rouge the Bat!

There's just something about Kay Bear Cosplay where she just emanates so much beauty in any sort of shoot she participates in. Cosplay, lingerie, you name it and Kay just looks stunning! Today, I wanted to share her Rouge the Bat cosplay from the Sonic franchise. As the infamous thief, Kay brings a playful side to the character mostly with the poses and facial expressions she makes in the pictures I found online. Plus, the cosplay overall looks simple and comfy so I imagine this wasn't a huge issue wearing for long periods of time. For starters, I LOVE the wig Kay has up at the top. It's a cute style going down to her shoulders and has a lot of waves added on to it. The ears being added up at the top is such a perfect addition to it too! The name of the game color wise is a whole lot of pink and white which you'll see in both the arm sleeves & boots but I'll get to those in a bit!

Cosplayer Interview: Ivy Doomkitty (Part 1)!

Photo by York in a Box

At RI Comic Con last weekend, I had the wonderful opportunity to interview the amazingly talented Ivy Doomkitty! For those who are unaware, Ivy is a famous cosplayer who really puts in a lot of love into her outfits. Having been cosplaying for more than 5 years (the exact number you'll learn in the video), she has gained a following amassing of over 300,000 fans. Her appearance/figure is one of the many other draws on top of her down to earth personality and caring about other cosplayers. You'll notice that yes this is a Part 1 Interview so there will be a second part down the road. Ivy gave such amazing answers that I hope you all will enjoy though and I can't thank her enough for sitting down with me <3. In terms of what got her into liking all of this geek media from gaming to comics, it was simply being raised up on it when she was younger. Ivy recalls things like the Super Nintendo being her first ever game system.

She talked about her last convention--Comikaze--briefly and mentioned the cosplays she wore to it. Along with the ones she had plans to wear here. For the day this was conducted, Ivy was wearing her Slytherin inspired outfit complete with a gorgeous corset done by her friends at Castle Corsetry. Emperor Kuzco and Velma were her other cosplays brought for RICC. It definitely seemed fitting considering RICC is sort of a relaxed convention. Ivy enjoyed herself there so far with it being the first time in Rhode Island. Of course, food was one of the notable things Ivy loved being a huge food person and all as well.

Other things you'll get to learn about Ivy include her first cosplay ever created, the specifics that went into her Altair cosplay (which is one of my favorites she's done), and even into her Pin Up/Modeling career that she's done. Surprisingly the latter existed before she started cosplaying which not many people seemed to know. This includes me, I had always thought that the style was eventually explored through cosplaying. Doing pin-up versions of characters and what not.

I want to apologize if it is a bit hard to hear us both in the video. I underestimated the noise levels of crowd. Plus, our area was walled off from the rest of the convention due to it being double booked. It meant a lot to me hearing from Ivy how much fun she had so I do hope you all enjoy getting to know her a little more :D

I want to thank Ivy so so much again for allowing me to interview her. I've wanted to for so long so this was lots of fun for me. It also allowed me to learn more about how to make convention interviews much better. I'll try to get in touch with Ivy soon to work out doing the second part. This could be either online or through Google Hangout. Ivy, you're an amazing person and I'm alway happy in helping with supporting your awesome cosplay work. Here are links to Ivy's pages to follow her! I also included her Print Store as well.
