Cosplay Feature: Gray Oranges' Rikku!

Photo by David Ngo I won't ever shy away from writing about cosplays of Rikku's look from Final Fantasy X-2 and Gray Orange did a fantastic job portraying her in both the overall cosplay look PLUS the pose work. Of course I'll get to all that in due time but let's start at the top! It's certainly a cosplay worn for several events and I want to say I first saw this in the overall collection of MAGFest photos back in January of this year. I really love how the multiple braid strands are integrated into the blonde wig for starters. I can't tell if they're either part of the wig itself or the blue headband that's wrapped around. In any case, following this is a red scarf wrapped around Irini's neck before you then get to the yellow bikini top. Here, you can also see orange trim lines as part of the piece. Oh, I forgot to mention that the red scarf actually travels all the way down to her legs. These end points then transition to a yellow/orange gradient!

Cosplay Feature: Andy Rae Cosplay's Death Knight!

I remember seeing the above photo in lots of places online throughout the past year. It only wasn't until a few weeks ago that I found the lovely lady responsible for this female Death Knight from World of Warcraft. Guys, meet Andy Rae Cosplay, and let me tell you she makes some pretty badass stuff. Andy Rae was one of the girls a part of the Battle Disney Princess (as Snow White) and Sailor Scout (Jupiter) groups that I constantly go on and on about. Her Death Knight cosplay was done with mostly Worbla for the armor pieces. This includes the breast plate, spikes around her waist/hips, and the shoulder guards! I absolutely love the paint job and added features such as the teeth extending from the bottom of the breastplate!

The color scheme for the entire cosplay consists of a very dark blue with additions of gray, silver and black. Andy also has a long white wig with a blue hood that extends down her back. That giant axe weapon you see her holding on the left? She definitely made that as well! I imagine a combination of foam and Worbla was used to create it. The pattern and design on it is very fitting for the character. With Andy being based in Canada, the location is perfect for the Death Knight. The snow works well with the armor and overall presence of the character.

Spikes are covering most of the armor pieces along with chains coming off the belt. There's actually fur around that area and I find it to be an awesome touch. The shoulder guards are stacked on top of one another and the skulls on the leg plates look great! Being a big fan of World of Warcraft and the overall universe of those games, Andy Rae's Death Knight is so epic. I hope I'm able to interview her some time when most of what I have planned is cleared out! Until then, enjoy the rest of these pictures! CHECK OUT THOSE POSES!
